  1. What about England's bench?published at 17:32 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    France v England (16:45 GMT)

    Matt Dawson
Former Lions and England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

"My one concern about this squad is what about these finishers, what about the bench?

"We are used to England playing so well for 55- 60 minutes and then these finishers came on and absolutely obliterated the opposition.

"They don't have the pizzazz they may have had over the last 20-odd games."

Are England going to have to rely on their bench in the second half?

England need a bonus-point win to deny Ireland the Six Nations title, but they only have penalties to show for their efforts so far.

Should Eddie Jones' side be taking the points or going for tries?

  4. 'England haemorrhaging penalties'published at 17:30 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    HT: France 9-9 England

    Chris Jones
BBC rugby union commentator at Stade de France

Unless England do something special in the second half then the title is going to Ireland, which as things stand is only right; England have looked nothing like champions in the first 40. Haemorrhaging penalties and blunt in attack.

  5. White line dreamingpublished at 17:30 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    HT: France 9-9 England

    Tom Fordyce
Chief sports writer at the Stade de France

Frustration among the England support as the penalties continue to pile up - eight conceded in the first half - and the attack splutters. Forget the four tries to keep the championship alive - England have scored only one in roughly 180 minutes of Six Nations rugby. Irish eyes beam.

  6. Half-time - France 9-9 Englandpublished at 17:29 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

The French players walk off down the tunnel as Owen Farrell calls his men into a huddle on the pitch.

England with a lot to sort out at the break.

  7. England struggling at ruck timepublished at 17:28 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    France 9-9 England

Unfortunately it's same old, same old for England at the ruck.

Eddie Jones' side had the worst ruck success rate coming into today's game in Paris.

Their success rate at the ruck this evening is barely 90% (four losses from 45) - their worst stats so far this tournament.

France are at 100% when it comes to retaining possession at the breakdown with 43 successful rucks.

  8. 'England have to stretch France'published at 17:25 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    France 9-9 England

    Brian Moore
Former England hooker on BBC One

When England get back out in the second half they have to stretch France. With this tempo France will always be in the game.

  10. 'From up here it seems so obvious what England need to do'published at 17:25 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    France 9-9 England

    Paul Grayson
Former Lions and England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

England aren't going to score four tries the way they've been playing so far. From up here it seems so obvious what they need to do - but down there, it's tough, and if it's not in the playbook they aren't going to do it.

  11. Penalty - France 9-9 Englandpublished at 37 mins

    Maxime Machenaud

Another sweetly struck penalty from way out as Machenaud evens up the scores at the Stade de France.

  12. France 6-9 Englandpublished at 36 mins

OOOOF. That is a huge hit from Maxime Machenaud on England wing Jonny May.

Yacouba Camara picks up a loose ball at the breakdown as the French defence stays solid and yep, you guessed it. Penalty.

England are offside and Machenaud is pointing to the posts.

  14. Penalty - France 6-9 Englandpublished at 33 mins

    Maxime Machenaud

Machenaud makes no mistake and draws France back within three points of England.

This is a tight affair in Paris, and not what England need.

  15. France 3-9 Englandpublished at 30 mins

This is getting tiring. More stoppages. This time England pinged for offside.

England have conceded six and France have let five slip. And we've only played 30 minutes.

France come at the English defence through the forwards as Sabastien Vahaamahina crashes into the white shirts and the crowd finally come alive.

The ball is knocked on, but don't worry, we're coming back for the penalty. A new one this time. Maro Itoje put in a high tackle on Benjamin Fall.

  16. 'England must change their mentality'published at 17:17 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    France 3-9 England

    Matt Dawson
Former Lions and England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

I think from now on England need to change their mentality. They want to score tries - but they haven't been in the right positions to kick to touch and go over with a devastating move.

Joe: Why are England going for the posts when we need a bonus-point win?

Rich: Why are England kicking penalties at goal? We need a bonus point, so every penalty should go to the corner until we have four tries.

  18. Penalty - France 3-9 Englandpublished at 29 mins

    Owen Farrell

But England come back for the penalty and Owen Farrell floats over his third penalty of the afternoon.

    Still no tries in Paris.

  19. France 3-6 Englandpublished at 25 mins

It's been a chaotic and nervy first 25 minutes in Paris.

England need four tries and a win to keep this Six Nations title race alive. They have the latter at the moment, but with their troubles at the breakdown, they haven't looked like scoring.

France are reluctant to put pace on this game as Paul Gabrillagues gives away a penalty for collapsing England's maul. England need to take advantage of this free play.

  20. 'England getting continually turned over'published at 17:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 March 2018

    France 3-6 England

    Paul Grayson
Former Lions and England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

England have been continually turned over at the breakdown. The forwards need to get closer to every ruck so it's not as easy for the French.
