Gareth Davies will be disappointed there, because he could have held his run. He's offside there, no try.

But that one will be wiped off by the TMO, correctly. Gareth Davies is in front of the kicker.

What a shame, that was beautiful.

  3. 'Good variety to Wales attack'published at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2018

    Wales 14-7 Italy

    Jonathan Davies
Former Wales international on BBC One

Wales have been clever so far, because they're targeting where they attack nicely. They're going through a few phases with the forwards, and then getting it out wide. There's a good variety to their attack so far.

Steff Evans storms away down the wing and chips inside, as Gareth Davies collects the ball under the posts.

We're checking to see if the scrum-half is onside...

Hadleigh Parkes has started well, one try in the bag and now he's bouncing off defenders all over the place.

Wales have an opportunity down the right-hand side, four offloads in a row for Warren Gatland's side. Almost unheard of. But James Davies knocks on and Italy will have a scrum in their own 22.

Italy have to be careful, because when they are kicking from the back three, their chase is very haphazard. So they'll have to watch out, because if the Welsh cotton on to it, there could be carnage.

In contrast to the kick by Violo, Hadleigh Parkes dabs a great kick right into the corner and asks his forwards to put pressure on the line-out.

Maxime Mbanda goes off for Italy and he's replaced by Giovanni Licata as we pause.

    Wales 14-7 Italy

What a frantic start. Three tries in the first 10 minutes, a real treat after the penalties in Paris yesterday.

Defences can go missing every day if we get match-ups like this.

Italy are back in possession and Matteo Minozzi is almost away once again down the middle but one, lone red shirt manages to cling on.

Italy are moving forward nicely but Marcello Violo decides to chip over the defence and into touch.

  11. 'Brilliant finish from Minozzi'published at 15:13 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2018

    Wales 14-7 Italy

    Brian Moore
Former England hooker on BBC One

Superb individual skill from Matteo Minozzi, but after beating his man he still had a lot to do to avoid being tackled out of play. It was a quite brilliant finish. The two Welsh defenders should have taken him down, but you can't take it away from Minozzi for beating them both.

    Matteo Minozzi, con Allan

A tremendous piece of skill from Matteo Minozzi and Italy hit straight back.

He spirals through Gareth Anscombe then Gareth Davies and Steff Evans before diving over the line.

Questionable tackling there from Wales, Shaun Edwards will be fuming.

Allan with lovely conversion, this match is going to be a cracker.

Ian B: Are you watching Scotland? This is how you take chances.

  14. Scotland women claim first Six Nations winpublished at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2018

    Ireland 12-15 Scotland

Elsewhere, Scotland women have claimed their first victory of the Women's Six Nations by beating Ireland 15-12 at the Donnybrook Stadium in Dublin.

The Scots led at the break courtesy of a Helen Nelson penalty, before the Irish struck back early in the second half with a penalty try.

However, after absorbing plenty of pressure from the home side, Chloe Rollie ran the length of the field to touch down under the posts and consign Ireland to their second defeat of the competition.

  15. 'Easy, easy try'published at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2018

    Wales 14-0 Italy

    Jonathan Davies
Former Wales international on BBC One

Two blind passes have let Italy down there, but there was still a lot of work for Owen Watkin to do after making the interception. He's stepped Sergio Parisse nicely, and then George North is there where every good winger should be. Easy, easy try.

    Wales are celebrating again.

A brilliant intercept by Owen Watkin, after a terrible blind pass from Italy flanker Maxime Mbanda.

He finds George North who finishes well. The Northampton winger is back with a bang.

Gareth Anscombe just edges his conversion inside and Wales are 14 points to the good after seven minutes.

    Too easy.

Children, look away. Tommaso Castello gets his head in completely the wrong place and Hadleigh Parkes just bounces off his opposite number to score his third try for Wales.

Gareth Anscombe makes no mistake with an easy conversion.

    The perfect start for Wales.

A statement from intent by Wales as Gareth Anscombe, at fly-half today, turns down the points and kicks to touch.
