The debutant flanker has made 18 tackles so far - four more than the next highest tackler on the pitch.

    Wales 24-7 Italy

Steff Evans has a good old drive down the left wing, legs pumping, teeth gritted, but he's hauled down 10 metres out.

Aled Davies tries a cheeky back-handed pass to George North but that was a little too ambitious. More like a football flick - flashy but without results.

Steve: Isn't it time Italy left the Six Nations and gave another team a chance to compete? They can't compete at this level.

Italy are heading for their 16th straight Six Nations defeat. Do you agree with Steve?

349 metres, three tries for Wales, and they're looking comfortable against Italy in Cardiff.

Wales have made just over twice as many metres attacking as Italy so far today

  5. Replacementspublished at 60 mins

    Wales 24-7 Italy

We've hit the hour mark, you know what that means.

Gareth Davies won't return from the bin, he's replaced by Aled Davies, as his Scarlets team-mate Rhys Patchell comes on for Gareth Anscombe.

Elliot Dee also plods off after a good shift at hooker, and fans favourite Ken Owens comes on, another Scarlet.

And finally, Rob Evans is on in place of Nicky Smith.

  6. Watch: Cory Hill's second-half trypublished at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2018

    Wales 24-7 Italy

Wales may been a man down (even two for a short period) this half but it hasn't stopped them extending their lead.

You can watch how Cory Hill claimed his first international try below.

David Howell: All I can say about this second half... The Italian Botch Job!

Stephen Hingston: Hadleigh Parkes been solid again today - he does the basics and doesn't over-play. He's class.

  8. 'Nearly a brilliant try'published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2018

    Wales 24-7 Italy

    Brian Moore
Former England hooker on BBC One

That was very nearly a brilliant try - in concept and execution. They just missed the final pass. Matteo Minozzi was especially good there to make the tackle on Steff Evans and force the knock-on.

  9. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Wales 24-7 Italy

James Davies is involved again, this time in attack, and it's very nearly a brilliant try for Wales.

Davies collects a well-weighted chip, captain Taulupe Faletau has a go before finding Justin Tipuric and the last offload makes it to Steff Evans on the wing, who just knocks on before the line.

All of the back row involved there in a pacey Wales attack.

  10. Postpublished at 57 mins

    Wales 24-7 Italy

James Davies is away and clear as Wales' top tackler this afternoon. The debutant flanker has made 16 tackles, with the next best red shirt sat on 11.

His brother, Wales centre Jonathan Davies, was chatting to Sonja McLaughlan at half-time as said he was "so proud" of his little brother.

"It was quite emotional for me and my mum before kick-off. But he's been through a lot and he deserves his chance."

  11. 'Inconsistent Italy'published at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2018

    Wales 24-7 Italy

    Brian Moore
Former England hooker on BBC One

I know from speaking to [Italy head coach] Conor O'Shea and his staff they get very frustrated with Italy's lack of consistency - because sometimes their players do somethings very well - but more often than not they do things badly too. That's one of the main challenges on O'Shea's hands with this Italy team.

  12. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Wales 24-7 Italy

At least 12 phases there for Wales, before they give away the penalty.

A huge boot from Tommaso Allan gets Italy into the Welsh half and another scrambled line-out finds its way back to Sergio Parisse and a scrum to come.

  13. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Wales 24-6 Italy

Wales wing Steff Evans is in at scrum-half while Gareth Davies sits in the bin.

He's doing a decent job behind a strong Wales scrum as Taulupe Faletau takes it on in the middle of the field.

Wales just need to go through the phases here and wind down the clock.

  14. 'O'Shea will be disappointed'published at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2018

    Wales 24-7 Italy

    Brian Moore
Former England hooker on BBC One

That is a 90-metre net gain for Wales - after two pieces of possession squandered by Italy. Conor O'Shea will be very disappointed with that - he knows his side is better than that.

  15. Postpublished at 51 mins

    Wales 24-7 Italy

Liam Williams isn't looking in any hurry to return to the field, he's sipping some water on the bench.

He'll keep his tracksuit on, I can see Leigh Halfpenny warming up on the sidelines as Italy squander possession once again with a terrible pass and Wales thump the ball downfield.

Halfpenny comes on, Wales back to 14 men.

  16. 'No complaints'published at 16:16 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2018

    Wales 24-7 Italy

    Jonathan Davies
Former Wales international on BBC One

You know when you do that you're going to get a yellow card - you either go for the intercept or you go for the tackle. No complaints from Gareth Davies there.

  17. Sin-bin - Walespublished at 48 mins

    Gareth Davies

Yellow card number two for Wales. Scrum-half Gareth Davies isn't going for the intercept there, he keeps his hand out and there are no complaints.

He trots off the field and Wales are down to 13 men here. Italy HAVE to score, but in typical Italian fashion, they lose the line-out.

  18. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Wales 24-7 Italy

At the moment, Wales will move above England in the table to second even without the bonus point.

They just need a nine-point margin of victory over the Italians this afternoon to catapult themselves from fifth to second.

But trouble here for Wales, a second yellow card is coming for a deliberate knock-on...

  19. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Wales 24-7 Italy

Italy boss Conor O'Shea is biting down on something in the coaches' box. He looks a frustrated man.

His side, just as they were in the first half, have been carved open again in the opening exchanges.

Wales have the ball inside the Italian half and they're making good progress through their forwards, but that's good defensive work from the visitors and they win the penalty.

  20. 'Statement from Wales'published at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 11 March 2018

    Wales 24-7 Italy

    Brian Moore
Former England hooker on BBC One

That is a statement from Wales, but you wouldn't ordinarily expect a simple run like that to work, but Italy only had Sergio Parisse committed to the tackle there.
