The Springboks spring away from their half - it's S'busiso Nkosi leading the attack.

But the first phase breaks down 30 yards from the England line.

The home side are back on the attack but Steven Kitshoff forces an error from England's Chris Robshaw, who fails to release the ball.

Handre Pollard to attempt another long one....

Why on earth did England not get the bench on sooner? Luke Cowan-Dickie, Nathan Hughes - the difference they've made is immense - just because they're fresh legs. I think that's the main learning that Eddie Jones will take away from this.

    South Africa 39-32 England

England need a converted try to draw. At best South Africa need to push England out wide while they're on the attack.

The home side have a line-out near their own tryline, but England have the ball.

David Hulse: Another pathetic display of on-field indiscipline by England. Will they never learn?

Nick Price: We needed the bench 10 mins ago, too late now.

We said before Maro Itoje was looking to force his way into the game and he's done it here. Itoje is so tall, he's just reached over S'busiso Nkosi in the ruck, and put it down on the line.

Scott: Poor from England but this refereeing needs to be looked at, beyond disgraceful from Ben O’keefe.

    Has it though?

England get a pen after South Africa stray offside.

They obviously don't opt to kick between the sticks.

The ball goes out for an England lineout.

    They need to score.

    Now.

Robin Smit: Faf De Klerk has really been the difference today. His time in the UK playing for Sale has really upped his game immensely.

England have got nothing left in the tank here, all of the efforts they've put in means their decision making has gone to pot as well.

Mako Vunipola had a go with the charge down, he was too late, and he just stuck a shoulder in on Faf De Klerk, who was only too happy to take the hit and get Vunipola a yellow.

South Africa are so powerful in the carry - England are getting bent out of shape here. Aphiwe Dyantyi had a juggle with it, but he's safely over. With nine minutes left on the sin-bin, England are looking down the barrel here.

  14. try

Converted try - South Africa 39-27 England (Dyantyi)published at 66 mins

Hmm, is that it for the outcome?

Anyway, Faf de Klerk (who else?) finds big man RG Snyman, who in turn finds Aphiwe Dyantyi, who juggles the ball unintentionally, before touching down.

    Converted.

That was great play from their own 22 from England - Tom Curry made a sensational break. But Henry Slade's been caught there at scrum-half, he's not used to it, and Faf De Klerk took full advantage with the tackle to win his team a knock-on.

James: England need to get and hold possession. We look so dangerous with the ball. So feeble without it.

Daniel: A perfect example of England over the last six months - massive inability to think past plan A, Farrell's much-vaunted leadership is nowhere and with an autocratic coach they don’t think for themselves.
