The pace of England's ball is just too much for South Africa at the moment. We've been asking for Jonny May to come infield and run at defenders all season, and he's done it there, and picked out Elliot Daly for an easy finish. England are playing brilliantly.

    What.

    Is.

    Happening?

England spread the ball once again to the left where Jonny May finds Elliott Daly who adds to his tally by going over in the corner.

Owen Farrell takes over the kicking duties and adds to the total.

    It's a 14-point lead!

    South Africa 3-10 England

This game is being played at altitude as we know - but how well have England acclimatised?

The men in white are back on the attack in the SA last 22.

  4. Penalty (Pollard)published at 10 mins

    South Africa 3-10 England

That was a superb tackle from Mike Brown out on the South Africa right to pull down S'busiso Nkosi - who was just metres from the try-line - by his shirt.

Anyway, the home side win another pen - this time they will take the points as Handre Pollard kicks over.

  5. 'Brilliant try from Brown'published at 16:18 British Summer Time 9 June 2018

    South Africa 0-10 England

    Matt Dawson
Former Lions and England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

It was a brilliant try by Mike Brown. It was real endeavor from deep, and very accurate from England, too. That's what you have to do if you're going to win away from home.

  6. 'Springboks need to get the crowd going'published at 16:17 British Summer Time 9 June 2018

    South Africa 0-10 England

    Paul Grayson
Former Lions and England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

South Africa need to get the crowd involved again - England's fast start has muted them totally after a rousing national anthem had the place buzzing.

  7. 'A classic winger's finish'published at 16:16 British Summer Time 9 June 2018

    South Africa 0-10 England

Breathtaking start from England. England have played out from deep and they've gone all the way - Mike Brown still has so much work to do and he goes over for a classic winger's finish. Brilliant score by England and a great show of physical strength from Brown.

  8. try

Converted try - South Africa 0-10 England (Mike Brown)published at 16:12 British Summer Time 9 June 2018

That is an extraordinary start for England.

Mike Brown - on the wing - rides two tackles by Handre Pollard and Damian de Allende (very half-hearted) to go over in the corner.

I'm still getting over Daly's pen.

Daly converts to take his tally to five already.

South Africa have a pen - they won't kick for the post, they want a try back.

That was absolutely phenomenal. Kicking at this altitude is great for the ego.

    Wow!!!!!!!!!!

    61 metres!!!!

Elliott Daly kicks a monster at altitude to give England the early lead.

Small Man Peaky: England have got to win the series. They’ve had a disastrous 2018 and have failed to kick on from their incredible 2016. Jones’ selections and lack of permanent attack coach has led to a lot of justified criticism. SA a bit of an unknown with Erasmus taking over.

  16. 'This is a massive few weeks for England'published at 16:05 British Summer Time 9 June 2018

    Matt Dawson

I think this tour will tell us if the Six Nations was a blip for England after an incredible run, or if the side is going stale tactically and personnel-wise. England need to start rebuilding momentum now ahead of the World Cup in Japan next year - so this few weeks is massive for England, and massive for Eddie Jones.

It was an unbelievable roar when the Springboks emerged. Siya Kolisi walked out like he owned the place to an incredible noise - he's going to embrace every second of today. The atmosphere is just incredible.

  18. Postpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 9 June 2018

It's incredible the symbolism that Siya Kolisi is going to run out in the number six shirt - the same shirt Nelson Mandela wore in 1995. He's there by right and he's a brilliant player - I'm excited to see him perform.

  20. 'Springboks will over-perform early'published at 16:02 British Summer Time 9 June 2018

South Africa v England (16:05 BST)

    Matt Dawson
Former Lions and England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

I'm interested to see if England realise the special nature of this game today - with Siya Kolisi captaining the Springboks - it's probably an extra 10 or 15% for the South Africans today. England have to be ready and they have to understand how much they are going to over-perform in the early stages today.
