  2. Half-time: Exeter 14-6 Leicesterpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

The half finishes with a missed penalty kick from George Ford, it was a challenging one mind you, and they remain 8 points down with 40 to go.

From an Exeter Chiefs' perspective, Rob Baxter will be pleased with what he's seen but will be asking for a little bit more in the second half.

The home side enjoyed over 70% of the possession and territory but only started to make it count in the latter stages of the half. That said, they look the more comfortable of the two.

Try: Exeter 14-6 Leicesterpublished at 37 mins

    Sam Simmonds

    Pure power from Sam Simmonds.

We all know that he's a mobile and athletic number 8 but this try showcases the power that the 23-year-old has. Simmonds, flanked by two team-mates, muscles over at close range.

With half-time in sight, Gareth Steenson adds the conversion.

    Exeter 7-6 Leicester

Exeter are continually pulling Leicester from pillar to post right now.

The home side are moving through the gears at every opportunity and are stretching the Tigers' defensive line almost to breaking point.

This man will be quietly content with the way in which last season's runners-up are growing into their performance.

  5. try

Try: Exeter 7-6 Leicesterpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Olly Woodburn

The Exeter Chief scored nine tries last season and he's up and running this time out with an athletic grounding.

Matt Kvesic is the man to create the score with a lovely show and go. The home side keep tempo high and Woodburn reaches out over his head to ensure that the five-points that they have been searching for, finally arrive.

From in front of the posts, Gareth Steenson converts.

  6. Penalty: Exeter 0-6 Leicesterpublished at 23 mins

    George Ford

George Ford's second kick of the day is a monster from the half-way line and it sails through the middle of the uprights.

He's keeping their scoreboard ticking well and Leicester's cushion on the board belies a lack of field position and possession.

  7. Full-time: Worcester 20-21 Waspspublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

What drama at the end of this one as Worcester are beaten by Wasps, despite leading for long periods of the game.

Wasps needed Billy Searle's boot to steer them to victory, while Worcester might have nicked it at the end as Duncan Weir - noteperfect all afternoon otherwise - steered his drop goal attempt wide in a thrilling finale.

Points go Wasps' way, but it is ever so cruel on Worcester.

  8. Full-time: Harlequins 51-23 Salepublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

All over at The Stoop and it's a winning start for Harlequins.

It was tight at the break but Quins cut loose in the second half to run our convincing winners.

    Exeter 0-3 Leicester

Santiago Cordero is another man showing his class at Sandy Park. He's threatening at every opportunity and capitalises off Sam Simmonds' bulldozing run.

In the end the move is shut down by a big hit from Manu Tuilagi which forces the knock-on. No points for the home side as yet but that's a sign of what the home side can do.

    Exeter 0-3 Leicester

It's been an assured few minutes from George Ford, the international fly-half is showing his class by pushing the Tigers around the field well.

His kick through pins Exeter back and after they clear Jonny May tries to jink his way forwards. Unfortunately for May, Matt Kvesic shuts the door firmly.

  12. Penalty: Exeter 0-3 Leicesterpublished at 14 mins

    George Ford

A scrum-penalty 35 metres out offers George Ford the opportunity to score the first points of the day.

He nails the kick despite the famed Sandy Park breeze soaring around.

  14. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Leicester

Another loose kick from Leicester creates a window for a Chiefs' break.

Santiago Cordero steps his way around Sione Kalamafoni, Cordero has been a busy man early doors, and then Ian Whitten is forced to chip forwards.

Ben Youngs gobbles it up and his England half-back partner, George Ford, calmly clears.

  15. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Leicester

The Chiefs have enjoyed 90% of the early possession. When Leicester finally have the ball in their hands, Adam Thompstone puts the chip through and it has far too much on it.

  16. Penalty: Worcester 20-21 Waspspublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Billy Searle

It's a huge kick from a scrum penalty for Billy Searle. Wasps pushed and pushed until the Warriors melted at the set-piece, and the former Bristol 10 just slotted the goal.

Wasps in front. But this game has been anything but predictable.

  17. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Leicester

Again the Chiefs try to build but a monster hit from Will Spencer on Ollie Devoto brings about a turnover.

Spencer, a new signing for the Tigers, has just set out his stall for the season in a bruising fashion and his side have hit the nail on the head with their tweet about it!

  18. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Leicester

The Chiefs are enjoying working their way through the phases, they're building quietly as they like to do, and cross the half-way line on the 8th phase.

There are some bruising collisions going on and when Ian Whitten finds Santiago Cordero with a lofty pass, Cordero is tackled in the air by Jonny May.

May is the man to receive a little bit of treatment after but he looks to be okay. Exeter drive the penalty onto the 22-metre line.

  19. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Leicester

An early knock-on from Sione Kalamafoni gives us a look at the two packs. 'Space' and 'good height' are the request from referee Wayne Barnes.

The battle between Greg Bateman, Tom Youngs and Dan Cole and Alec Hepburn, Jack Yeandle and Tomas Francis will be a fascinating one.

Both trios go down, the Chiefs are told to use it and they do.

  20. Kick-offpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Exeter 0-0 Leicester

Leicester take to the field to a wave of applause, they're well respected in these parts, but the decibel levels raise considerably for the Chiefs.

The familiar Tomahawk chop rings around the ground. Leicester will play from right to left in the right in the first half and George Ford gets us under way.
