And this time it's Harlequins' turn to reply immediately as Ben Tapuai goes between two defenders to go over under the posts, and Marcus Smith converts with the final kick of the half.

    Ehren Painter

Off the final play we're heading to the TMO to see if Northampton have scored...

Ehren Painter is the man who has grounded the ball but we're going back to look at the ruck that led to the original break.

  3. Penalty: Harlequins 17-20 Salepublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    AJ MacGinty

Not for the first time this afternoon, Harlequins immediately allow Sale to respond as they don't release from the restart and AJ MacGinty knocks over the penalty.

    Gloucester 27-16 Northampton

After Northampton concede their 15th penalty of the day, there's a little bit of confusion as to what the home side wish to do with it.

Danny Cipriani puts the ball into the corner but the kicking tee has already arrived.

Referee Matthew Carley dictates, as the laws state, that the kick at goal must be taken if the tee is on the field. Billy Twelvetrees doesn't have the direction from 48 metres out.

  5. try

Try: Harlequins 17-17 Salepublished at 15:50 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Nathan Earle, con Marcus Smith

A fourth try of the afternoon at The Stoop before half-time!

Aaron Morris makes a break to create the space and feeds debutant Nathan Earle, who dives over in the corner.

Marcus Smith lands a marvellous conversion from out side.

  6. Penalty: Gloucester 27-16 Northamptonpublished at 76 mins

    Billy Twelvetrees

In their haste to prevent the home side crossing, Northampton race offside. The Cherry and Whites continue to score for the five-pointer but don't make the most of the advantage period.

In the end, Matthew Charley brings it back and Billy Twelvetrees extends his tally for the day to 17 points.

With four minutes to play and Tom Hudson back on the field, you expect Gloucester to see this one out now.

  7. Half-time: Worcester 13-6 Waspspublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

Brilliant first-half by Worcester, who started fast and furious and it was enough for a first-half lead, courtesy of Ryan Mills' try and eight points from Duncan Weir's boot.

Wasps have shown flashes of brilliance, 100 mph, close-quarters rugby at times but they only have two penalties to show for their endeavour.

Still in it though. Big 40 to come.

  8. No try: Worcester 13-6 Waspspublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

Wasps so close! Last-gasp grubber rolled in behind was fumbled by Worcester and it looked like Joe Atkinson might have a debut try as he put his hand to the ball.

The TMO was called for but the angle was not conclusive with regards to grounding on the line. Worcester's lead remains intact. Wasps edging closer...

    Gloucester 24-16 Northampton

As Northampton look to exit their own half, James Grayson gives a pass wide just a little too much, instead of finding a team-mate it finds touch.

The young man has a little shake of the head and Gloucester have a chance to press with around 30 seconds left on Tom Hudson's sin-bin period.

  10. try

Try: Harlequins 10-17 Salepublished at 15:44 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Marland Yarde, con AJ MacGinty

A familiar sight for Harlequins fans - but sadly for them at the wrong end as Quins old boy Marland Yarde goes over.

Sale break quickly through Yarde after turning over the ball and the wing stays up in support to go over.

    Gloucester 24-16 Northampton

Gloucester are working through the phases in a bid to create a decisive score.

Danny Cipriani's flick back inside to Henry Trinder is a tidy one but Northampton read it well.

The Cherry and Whites continue putting phases together before Josh Hohneck knocks the ball forwards on the 11th.

That was the first time in the match that they had put more than five phases together but, to be honest, they weren't making great ground.

    Worcester 13-6 Wasps

Wasps were finishing the first-half the stronger of the two teams, camped in the Worcester 22 for a while but all they had to show was a penalty goal kicked by Billy Searle.

Warriors responded with a series of devastating surges toward the Wasps line in the responding spell possession but the visitors just about held out. It's a game very much in the balance.

  13. try

Try: Harlequins 10-10 Salepublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    AJ MacGinty, con MacGinty

An immediate response from Sale as the Sharks pack drive powerfully down the field before quick ball allows AJ MacGinty to go over from close range.

    MacGinty converts his own try.

  14. try

    Courtney Lawes

Northampton drive the ball into the corner and once their forwards get the maul rolling, a try score looks enviable.

Courtney Lawes is the man to finish the job and a tricky touch-line conversion just misses the mark.

  15. Sin-bin: Gloucester 24-11 Northamptonpublished at 64 mins

    Tom Hudson

Tom Hudson hasn't been on the field for long at all, he replaced Jason Woodward at full-back just moments ago, and his yellow card puts Gloucester into a sticky situation.

Hudson's fails to release in the tackle on Tom Collins, who had made an excellent break, and the result is a 10-minute breather.

  16. try

Try: Harlequins 10-3 Salepublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    Ben Tapuai, con Marcus Smith

Harlequins have the first try of the Paul Gustard era at The Stoop, with Australia international Ben Tapuai sneaks through a gap to go in under the sticks.

  17. Penalty: Gloucester 24-11 Northamptonpublished at 62 mins

    Billy Twelvetrees

A third penalty against Northampton, for contact in the air at the line-out, is comfortably in the range of Billy Twelvetrees.

Gloucester's centre strikes the ball sweetly and we have our first points of the second half. Whoop!

  18. Penalty: Harlequins 3-3 Salepublished at 15:32 British Summer Time 1 September 2018

    AJ MacGinty

Sale are back on level terms at The Stoop as AJ MacGinty slots over a penalty after Matt Symons was pulled up for a high tackle.

  19. Penalty: Worcester 13-3 Waspspublished at 28 mins

    Billy Searle

It really hasn't been Wasps' day so far... but finally they have some points thanks to indiscipline by the home side. Billy Searle - who missed off the tee just a few minutes previous - nailed at the second attempt.

On the whole though, they're being bossed by Worcester at the breakdown and can't quite execute in attack. Dai Young will be gritting hit teeth right now.

  20. Postpublished at 58 mins

    Gloucester 21-11 Northampton

After Ben Franks is penalised for collapsing the scrum, the home fans roar. Danny Cipriani makes good distance off the penalty but Courtney Lawes steals their line-out.

It's excellent work from Lawes but his side's discipline is letting them down. Back-to-back penalties pins them right back and hands Gloucester a window to press for points.
