    Northampton 5-3 Leicester

    Lennie Newman
Former Northampton Saints player and manager on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

It's not easy for the kickers today, you've got a slippy planted leg, a really wet ball and it is swirling down there.

  2. Missed penalty: Northampton 5-3 Leicesterpublished at 19 mins

    George Ford

The fly-half's opportunity for a settling three points goes begging as his next kick drifts to the left of the uprights.

Northampton were pinged for going off their feet at the breakdown.

JP Doyle has to stick his head into the pile of bodies in order to clearly see the grounding, great work from him, and Northampton's fans love the result.

Jamie Gibson was the man to ground the ball after excellent work from the forwards.

  4. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Northampton 0-3 Leicester

Northampton find their mark at the line-out on the second time of asking and try to set up the driving maul. Leicester deal with it well but as today's hosts keep it in the closer quarters they look like they might just have got over the line.

  5. try

Try: Wasps 7-7 Gloucesterpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Ben Vellacott, con Danny Cipriani

Gloucester are on the board and level, and Danny Cipriani is the architect.

September's Premiership player of the month and Ben Vellacott cause havoc down the left and when Cipriani dinks a kick through, the Gloucester scrum-half races on to it to score.

  6. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Northampton 0-3 Leicester

Kyle Eastmond is penalised for not rolling away on Taqele Naiyaravoro... if ever there was a mismatch of body sides it's there.

Northampton kick deep into the corner, can they make this opportunity count? The noise levels are rising in the stands.

  7. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Northampton 0-3 Leicester

Northampton haven't had a lot of possession to play with but a deep kick into the corner from Harry Mallinder hands them an opportunity to put pressure on Tigers' line-out.

They do so well and Tom Youngs' throw goes straight through the hands of Mike Williams.

The Saints swing it to the left but the end their progress is halted by accidental offside and Leicester are able to clear their lines.

  8. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Northampton 0-3 Leicester

There's an early pause in play for Jonny May, he looks very comfortable and actually leaves the field with his shoulder protected by his jersey.

That's a considerable blow for Leicester today and perhaps for England too. May's place is taken by England U20 star Jordan Olowofela. He's quite the talent and this is the right stage for him to deliver on.

  9. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Northampton 0-3 Leicester

    James Law
    BBC Sport at Twickenham

There may be empty seats at Twickenham and the rain is relentless, but the decision to move this East Midlands derby to the home of rugby has already been vindicated.

The ovation for Rob Horne was memorable, in front of what will comfortably be the biggest Premiership crowd of the season so far.

  10. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Northampton 0-3 Leicester

Northampton's first line-out, out of the hands of Dylan Hartley, doesn't find Api Ratuniyarawa.

Instead there's a knock-on from today's 'home' side after and we get a chance to look at a scrum for the first time.

Leicester's pack surge forwards and JP Doyle blows his whistle for the penalty. George Ford's kick doesn't find touch, though, due to Ahsee Tuala's acrobatic aerial skills.

  11. Penalty: Northampton 0-3 Leicesterpublished at 3 mins

    George Ford

It's an easy three points for George Ford after Northampton fail to roll away.

  12. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Northampton 0-0 Leicester

Both teams put up some early high balls to try and test their opponents' handling skills in this wet weather.

Dan Biggar collects well for Saints before the Tigers secure the turnover at the ensuing breakdown. Leicester swing it to the right, Manu Tuilagi has a first surge forwards before Harry Mallinder collects a chip through well.

It's going to be testing for both full-backs... something the fly-halves will be looking to exploit

  13. try

    Dan Robson, con Billy Searle

The first try of the afternoon comes at the Ricoh where Dan Robson spots a gap at the ruck, races through it and beats the covering defence. Great start for Wasps.

  15. Teams outpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

'Oh when the Saints' rings around Twickenham Stadium before Leicester emerge from the changing room to what can only be called 'respectful boos'!

The rivalry between these two is huge, perhaps the largest in the Premiership, and Alex Waller leads Northampton out from the home dressing room. Kick-off is on the way next...

Rob Horne brings out the match ball for this very special derby encounter and he's given a fitting and emotion-filled reception by the fans in the stands.

His bravery in the face of the life-changing injury has inspired each and every one of them, us too. Despite the pouring rain, is going to be a very special occasion and an incredible derby fixture between these two great rivals.

  17. Late, late changepublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 6 October 2018

    Northampton v Leicester (15:00 BST)

They always say that you need to be ready for anything! Tom Wood is a seasoned pro and this late call-up won't bother him.

It may be raining at Twickenham but the atmosphere is electric.
