Everything had to be perfect, everything had to be precise. The frustration is clear, rueful smiles from England. You have to keep building and keep scoring against the All Blacks because you know they're surely going to score at some point.

    Matt Dawson's instincts were good.

The catch is clean, the drive is strong, but Kyle Sinckler's handling is clumsy.

The ball dollies forward as he attempts to crash into the teeth of the Kiwi defence.

Scrum down black on their own line.

My instinct is to take the points, take it to 18-13. You can't second guess things, you can't second guess who's got the upper hand, England need a solid drive here.

    England 15-13 New Zealand

New Zealand infringe at the line-out. Penalty to England. Sticks or touch?

    Touch decides Owen Farrell.

A repeat offence from New Zealand would surely be a walk under the post for referee Jerome Garces and a penalty try...

  5. 'A seminal point'published at 16:18 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2018

    England 15-13 New Zealand

    Brian Moore
    Former England hooker

This is a seminal point for England. If they can score here, it will re-energise them. They've been on the back foot since the start of this second half.

Thats the fourth or fifth time an All Blacks player has cleared past the ruck and this time Barrett has gone too far.

    Great spot from the referee.

    England 15-13 New Zealand

Beauden Barrett with a brain-fade clear-out of Chris Ashton gives away a penalty.

Owen Farrell punts into the corner and this is a fine platform five metres from the New Zealand line with the throw into the line-out...

Three points conceded isn't a bad return for how much England were up against it. It was phase after phase from the All Blacks.

  9. 'Control the game'published at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2018

    England 15-13 New Zealand

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

England are taking an age to get back to where they were before half-time the leaders need to step up.

They need to get in possession and start to control this game.

  10. Drop-goal - England 15-13 New Zealandpublished at 45 mins

    Beauden Barrett

With the penalty advantage in hand, Beauden Barrett has a pressure free drop at goal.

He catches his mulligan sweetly enough with the ball sailing between the posts.

England's lead, once 15, is down to two.

  11. 'England need to learn'published at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November 2018

    England 15-10 New Zealand

    Paul Grayson
Former England fly-half on BBC Radio 5 live

England have had a let off with Ardie Savea dropping a try scoring opportunity but England need to learn from it.

Next time they get the ball they need to exit properly.

Jamie George grabs Rieko Ioane as the All Black wing threatens to jag into a hole on the England 22m line.

    Brian Moore

Despite the two errors by New Zealand they are moving the ball into contact in a more intelligent way in this half. Because of that, England aren't able to stop them at the gain-line, which is what they did so well in the first half.

  14. Replacementspublished at 43 mins

    England 15-10 New Zealand

Dane Coles and Nepo Laulala replace Codie Taylor and Owen Franks in the visiting front row.

Not quite sure why they didn't do that at half-time...

    England 15-10 New Zealand

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 live

He's pumped up Farrell, he's been right in the ear of the referee this half, I wonder what went on at half-time.

He's got to get his head on the game, he is the captain, not only in his mental game but in his running game.

That is the All Blacks at the brilliant best.

Beauden Barrett makes a break so Damian McKenzie slots in at first receiver, drops a shoulder, offloads the ball and Aaron Smith is in behind..

He dummies one way, throws the pass the other but it is just behind Ardie Savea.

Had that stuck, he was in.

    Ominous for England.

Simon Gleave, head of sports analysis, Gracenote:

New Zealand face a half-time deficit for the 20th time since winning their second World Cup in 2011. They have recovered to win 14 of those matches, one was drawn and only four were lost. This includes two comebacks from half-time deficits in their last three matches against England.

However, a deficit of at least five points resulted in two wins, a draw and four defeats.
