  2. 'It could be embarrasing'published at 19:03 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2019

    FT: Italy 15-26 Wales

Wales head coach Warren Gatland told ITV Sport: "There are lots of things we need to improve on for England. We didn't have enough tempo at line-out time and Italy were closing the space down pretty quickly. If we play like that against England, it could be embarrassing, but we won't play like that.

"There were a few guys out there that hadn't played a lot of rugby so we weren't as tight in the front five as we would have liked. We made those changes because we are trying to look ahead to the World Cup."

A big performance from Thomas Young on the flank today.

Making his first Six Nations start, he racked up a team-high 14 tackles, secured two turnovers. He also carried for 18 metres - the second highest total among the Wales forwards - from six carries.

    Busy.

  5. 'Frustration'published at 18:43 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February 2019

    FT: Italy 15-26 Wales

Wales captain Jonathan Davies speaking to ITV Sport: "I think there was a lot of frustration in the performance, that accuracy to turn pressure into points was what we lacked.

We have come to a difficult place to play rugby and got a result.

We expected to be smarter and cleaner with the ball. But it was great to show the depth of the squad and we are looking forward to a big match in two weeks' time.

We will probably have to be a lot better than today, but the team are excited by that. It should be a tasty one.

A lovely little bit of leather from Gareth Anscombe.

The Wales fly-half ignores those queuing up outside him on the left and instead dabs a little chip over the top of the advancing Italy defence.

Owen Watkin is onto it in a flash to dot down.

    Anscombe adds two more.
