So coming into this weekend's round of matches, this was the state of play.

Early days, but Ireland might rue their failure to take even a bonus point from England's visit to Dublin.

Wales 10-match winning streak has been achieved despite having the minority of possession in nine of those matches - including the 38-14 victory against Italy last year.

The only one of the 10 matches in which Wales had more possession than their opponents was the 74-24 win against Tonga.

None of those greats were part of Wales most successful winning run.

The record of 11 successive Test victories was set way back between 1907 and 1910 - three points for a try, laces on the ball, wing commander moustaches, the lot.

The class of 2018-19 could match that run today with victory over Italy. The Azzuri, France (twice), South Africa (twice), Argentina (twice), Scotland, Australia and Tonga have all been toppled in Wales' current run.
