    France 20-3 Scotland

France are piling on the pressure at the scrum. Scotland are warned about another possible yellow card and a penalty-try as France get the penalty and opt to scrum again. Why not?

    France 20-3 Scotland

France almost score again, it's thrilling counter-attacking stuff from them. Raka offloads to Antoine Dupont on his own line and somehow they go the length. Damian Penaud charges up the right-hand wing and sticks a kick through, only for Stuart Hogg to hack it dead. Chapeau.

20 points to 3 down. This is the best opportunity you're going to get to start from scratch and build the team back into the game. This is the chance to show leadership in the squad which there is, game management in the squad which there is. How do we bring that to the fore now? Because you might find this happens in the first half hour against Ireland or Japan, so how do you use this opportunity now to learn something going forward?

  4. try

Try- France 20-3 Scotlandpublished at 33 mins

    Grégory Alldritt

    This is a hiding.

France kicked to the corner from the penalty after Hastings was sin-binned. They set up the maul, which rumbles towards the line and Alldritt breaks free to touch down. That's three tries in his last two games v Scotland, and counting.

Camille Lopez can't convert from the touchline.

  5. Sin-bin- Adam Hastingspublished at 32 mins

    France 15-3 Scotland

Referee Nigel Owens explains to Hastings that he's offside and then sticks his hand out and kncoks-on as Antoine Dupont passed the ball. Another blow for Scotland, they're down to 14 for 10 minutes.

No. Scotland cough up possession as Jamie Bhatti is stripped of the ball and France charge up field through Gael Fickou. The TMO is checking for a deliberate knock-on by Scotland as France's attack is halted...

    France 15-3 Scotland

We've had a bit of a lull in the tempo, which is to be expected after a frantic start. France are keeping it tight and looking to pin Scotland into the corners with their kicking game.

Stuart Hogg makes a break though and Scotland are up to halfway. Can Scotland build some momentum?

There are men with rakes on the pitch to tackle the massive holes that have appeared. It's cutting up really badly.

Scotland's best way back into this game is securing the set-piece. They just got two excellent line-outs and got a penalty from one of them. It goes back to basics. Control the ball, and you'll control the game.

Hastings' strike is good and Scotland are on the board.

What's really impressive about France is the tempo from the ruck. A quick ball out to the number 9 in a couple of seconds, and there's no time for a defence to settle. It's very typical French play. When you've got that overlap, use it. Fix the inside runner, make them square on to you and then use that extra man.

  13. try

Try- France 15-0 Scotlandpublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 17 August 2019

    Maxime Medard

Brilliant play by France. The pack fly into the rucks and get quick ball and it goes wide. Scotland aren't set and France have a 4v1 in the left-hand channel. Damien Penaud gets on the outside of Darcy Graham and offloads to Medard who finishes.

    Lopez misses from the touchline.

    France 10-0 Scotland

Scotland are penalised for holding on at the ruck. The hosts are playing really well here, setting a tempo Scotland are struggling to match. They secure the line-out and are in Scotland's 22...

  15. Postpublished at 19 mins

    France 10-0 Scotland

When Scotland get ball in hand they look dangerous, but errors are killing them. They exit well and Duncan Taylor spins a delightful pass to Byron McGuigan, who speeds up the wing and forces an offload to Huw Jones, and it goes forward.

A bit too hasty from McGuigan there.

  16. Postpublished at 18 mins

    France 10-0 Scotland

France almost score again after try-scorer Alivereti Raka kicks through for Wesley Fofana, but Scotland manage to touch it down and take the 22m drop-out.

  17. Scotland's set-piece malfunctioningpublished at 16 mins

    France 10-0 Scotland

Two penalties given away at the scrum and two missed line-outs. A bit concerning from Scotland, basic stuff.

  18. Penalty- France 10-0 Scotlandpublished at 14 mins

    Camille Lopez

Lopez knocks over a penalty after Scotland again get penalised at the scrum. French tighthead Rabah Slimani is a scrummaging machine.

The pitches cut up in every French stadium, and the players should be used to it. Whether it's international or club all the pitches cut up here.

  20. Forward pass halts France scorepublished at 12 mins

    France 7-0 Scotland

Maxime Medard waltzes over the try-line, but referee Nigel Owens says the pass from Wesley Fofana was forward.

Scotland are living dangerously. France look impressive.
