That attack ends in a knock-on. A good break by Huw Jones, looking more like the player in attack he was when he burst on to the international scene a few years ago.
Let's see how France exit. The first scrum was pretty pain-free from a spectator's point of view.

Here come Scotland up the short side. Huw Jones bumps off a defender and Byron McGuigan takes them into the France 22...
France 7-0 Scotland
A half-break from Stuart Hogg gets Scotland up the pitch after an offload to Ali Price. But after a few phases, Price sticks a kick through which is swept up by Damian Penaud and France clear.
It's a bit error-strewn at the moment. The lack of games from both sides is showing as France knock-on on halfway.

Quote MessageI think the last thing I said before kick-off was the set pieces were key. The throw from the line-out is actually quite good, but it goes through the Scotland player's hands. It's the first bit of competitive action in a couple of months. They'll be disappointed there.
Alivereti Raka
On his debut! What a start for the Fijian-born winger. He crashes through the Scotland defence with ease after hitting an angle against the grain. Right in front of the posts, so Camille Lopez knocks over the extras.
Shocking start by Scotland.

Bad start for Scotland. An overthrow by Stuart McInally hands France an attacking platform in the Scotland 22. Here they come...
France 0-0 Scotland
And after being treated to coarse verses of Flower of Scotland and La Marseillaise by the respective sides, we're off! Nigel Owens is the referee, by the way.

So, who's going to win this? Thumbs up for Scotland, thumbs down for France...

The Allianz Riviera in Nice plays host to tonight's Test. A perfect evening for a game of rugby....

The message coming loud and clear from the Scotland camp this week is they are fit, firing and ready to get stuck into a Test match.
And what a setting for this one. The Allianz Riviera is a beautiful stadium in a stunning location. We expect around 22-23 thousand here which means the ground will only be around half-full, so it shouldn’t be too intimidating an environment for the Scots to play in.
It’s been a warm, sunny day in Nice and although the sun is now going down it is still hot so the Scottish players are sure to get a good workout.

It was a convincing win for France the last time these two sides met, back in Paris in the Six Nations in February. It was pretty much a stroll for Jacques Brunel's side as they eased Scotland aside 27-10.

Could we see Rory Hutchinson make his Scotland debut off the bench tonight? The Northampton centre has shot to fame over the last year under the tutetalge of Chris Boyd, with some scintillating performances in the English Premiership.
The competition for places at centre is fierce, though, so given a chance he'll need to be on his game. He was a fly-half for Scotland U20s though, so his versatility could play in his favour.

Quote MessageScotland have got to have a desire to defend. Everyone wants to get the ball in their hand and score tries, but you've got to want to defend and do that nasty part of the game.Scotland need to develop that, bring it to the fore and show it in Six Nations and the World Cup.

Darcy Graham and Stuart Hogg could well be two of the starting back-three in the World Cup opener against Ireland next month and play tonight. Both were born and bred in the rugby hotbed of Hawick in the Scottish Borders. I'm sure they'll be watching in the Mansfield Park clubrooms this evening cheering on their own.

Quote MessageThere are about six World Cup squad spots up for grabs. The three hookers are nailed down. There's one prop spot up for grabs, between Bhatti and Reid. I think there's one lock, and that's between Toolis and Cummings. There's two back-row spots up for grabs, one winger, and a centre spot.

It pretty much goes without saying that France have a huge, hulking pack. But their back-line is full of players who could light up the World Cup.
Toulouse scrum-half Antoine Dupont thrilled in the Champions Cup last season, while the centre pairing of Wesley Fofana and Gael Fickou contains explosive pace and power. Throw in the wily try-scorer Maxime Medard, Damian Penaud and the massive Fijian-born wing Alivereti Raka on debut and it's a mouth-watering prospect.
Don't forget the electric 20-year-old fly-half Romain Ntamack on the bench too.

After two months in camp together, Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend says the players are in prime condition and raring to go.
"It's a big step-up from training and training games to a Test much but they can't wait to play," he told BBC Scotland. "There's a buzz around the group. It'll be a really interesting game for us as coaches to see where we are. We believe they're in the best physical shape they've ever been in."
"The aim is to be better than the Six Nations. It's now up to the players to show that and grab the opportunity they have tonight."

The Allianz Riviera is a beautiful arena in a gorgeous part of the world. The Scotland players will be pleased the temperature is starting to fall because it is very very warm.
That could take a toll on the players as this game wears on. It's been interesting speaking to the players this week. They're all trying to stake their claim to get to the World Cup in Japan and they're all raring to go. There's a real sense of excitement and they're desperate to make their cases to get their seat on the plane
