That was a beautiful training ground move. Ireland had Cokanasiga and Tuilagi running sharp lines at them - who do you mark and how do you stop them?

That was perfection, and the type of precision you need under pressure.

It's as if England are playing Italy here the way they are putting Ireland away.

    Joe Cokanasiga (con Farrell)

More X-Factor than Simon Cowell's waistband.

Joe Cokanasiga is released on a wonderful arcing line by Owen Farrell's delayed pop pass. He is through an enormous hole in the Ireland defence and fixes the covering defender with a hint of a dummy to go in under the sticks.

Farrell brings up the half century.

If Ireland play like this in Japan they won't get out of their pool.

All eyes are on the Scotland game first up but they have to play the host nation and that won't be easy.

    England 43-10 Ireland

Ireland are on the rack here.

Expect Joe Schmidt to mention several hundred times that England are one warm-up match deeper into their World Cup prep in the debrief.

Dan Cole, Courtney Lawes and Mark Wilson are on in place of Kyle Sinckler, Tom Curry and Sam Underhill.

It was difficult to keep up with the commentary because the play was happening so fast, with the ball shifting left to right and with real pace between the players.

It's impossible for Ireland to chase these enormous men of England. Kyle Sinckler, the man known for his thundering runs, gave the deftest of passes to his runner.

    Tom Curry (con Farrell)

It is a peach of a score.

Kyle Sinckler with a feather-soft offload as Devin Toner came rushing up, Sam Underhill off his shoulder and through the gap and Tom Curry with a superb supporting line.

Owen Farrell ticks the scoreboard on another two.

Ohhs and ahhs from the Twickenham crowd.

Manu Tuilagi thumps Jordan Larmour with a crunching, but entirely legitimate hit.

That's bullying from Tuilagi. I can't see anything wrong with it. What a tackle!

That is the big kid taking on the little one at school. You got a detention for that!

That was a monumental tackle that we love to see in the game.

    Ch-ch-changes.

Willi Heinz is on for Ben Youngs at scrum-half, while Luke Cowan-Dickie replaces Jamie George in the front row.

Jack Carty is having a go at fly-half for Ireland, Andrew Conway on for Rob Kearney at 15.

That's a very good grounding from George Kruis under immense pressure.

  13. try

Try - England 36-10 Irelandpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 24 August 2019

    George Kruis

    Try stands!

A lovely little pick and flick off the floor by Billy Vunipola as the ball dropped out of Jonny May's hands. Nothing went forward either.

    Farrell lands the conversion.

  14. Try reviewpublished at 52 mins

    England 29-10 Ireland

George Kruis is over. The touchdown is fine. But was there a knockforward in backplay as Jonny May was snared in a tackle?

  15. Postpublished at 52 mins

    England 29-10 Ireland

Ireland look like they had a heavy training session yesterday rather than a captain's run. Slow of thought and deed as some limp defence, lacking bite, is followed by Ross Bryne clumping a kick out on the full.

George Kruis allows the ball to slip over his shoulder and Ireland pick up possession. Sam Underhill hits Tadhg Furlong with a dumper-truck hit shortly after.

That pass did look very forward from the normal camera angle but it was great thinking from Itoje.

He is not all about size, he picked a line and communicated it to Ben Youngs. Irresistible.

  18. try

Converted try - England 29-10 Irelandpublished at 44 mins

    Maro Itoje (con Farrell)

And the showboat finish from Maro Itoje. He has earned that and the score after a stellar performance so far.

Ireland's line-out has been dreadful. Another overthrow gives England front-foot ball and from the quick recycle, Maro Itoje cuts a vicious line, takes the short pop, hands off Tadhg Furlong and trots under the sticks.

    Easy extras for Owen Farrell.

    England 22-10 Ireland

Willi Heinz might just have a sniff of a starting spot against Tonga at this rate.

Ben Youngs wings a horrible wobbly mis-pass out on the full.

He has not had a good game so far.

  20. How will Ireland respond?published at 16:09 British Summer Time 24 August 2019

    England 22-10 Ireland

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC online radio commentary

It'll be interesting to see how Ireland come out of that half-time chat with Joe Schmidt. There's no need to light any rockets but certainly a little gee up around their discipline and inability to get into a pattern of play.
