Gregor Townsend demanded an improvement from his Scottish side. And it couldn't have got much worse than last week's 32-3 away defeat by France.

His men have delivered at Murrayfield.

With 20 minutes to go, Chris Harris' score has put the hosts 17-14 up against the same opposition.

You can catch the last quarter on text and radio over here.

The best loose-head prop in the world.

    He might just be.

England welcome back Mako Vunipola today for the first time since he twanged his hamstring in Saracens' Champions Cup final win over Leinster.

He enjoyed two weeks of bed rest - “For me it was pretty much heaven" - before getting out on the crutches and attending his brother Billy's wedding in Tonga.

    Weather

Conditions in Japan are expected to be as toasty as a Turkish bath.

South-west London is bringing the steam this afternoon. It feels like sevens weather rather than scrum-time.

"And now I love high tea, stories from Uni, and the West End,You can find me in the pub, we are watching rugby with his school friends."

It's time to stage an intervention.

As I'm sure you know, Taylor Swift has released a new song - London Boy - recounting her high times with a big smoke-based suitor.

But if she is enjoying watching rugby in a dreary Highgate boozer with someone chewing her ear about the time they moved the sofa into the garden of their student house for the summer, imagine how much she would love it watching it somewhere actually good.

The Principality Stadium with the lid on?

Estadio José Amalfitani with the Pumas in full flow?

    Even a well-known Australian-themed brand of super-pub?

Send us your shouts for the best places to watch rugby - live or off the screen - to #bbcrugby on Twitter or 81111 on text.

    Thanks!

  5. England's summer so farpublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 24 August 2019

    England v Ireland (15:00 BST)

England have played two of four Rugby World Cup warm-ups so far.

Their first was a fast-starting 33-19 win over Wales a fortnight ago.

Their second was against the same opposition, but with a different outcome as Wales took their revenge and their place at the top of the world rankings with a 13-6 success in Cardiff.

After today's match, they have a fortnight off, before facing Italy under the Friday night lights of St James' Park on 6 September.

Ireland's only hit-out so far in these summer tune-up Tests was a 29-10 success against Ireland.

It was a solid, if unspectacular, display from Joe Schmidt's sideline which was headlined by an ankle injury to back-up fly-half Joey Carbery.

The 23-year-old Munster man has looked in fine touch this season, but is now clinging to a plane ticket to Japan by his fingertips and he hopes his ligaments heal up in time.

Ireland face a testing opening match against Scotland on 22 September.

Before that they have Wales away and home on 31 August and 7 September respectively.

In a late change to the advertised squad, Joe Marchant has taken Jonathan Joseph's place on the bench. Joseph has been suffering from muscle soreness.
