  1. Thumbs up for Scotspublished at 19:35 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    FT: Georgia 10-44 Scotland

It's a thumbs up for Rory Hutchinson after his two tries, with Scotland getting five overall. It's a morale-boosting win on the road, their first for over a year, but the squad know they'll have to step up again in Japan.

Join us on Tuesday for the final announcement of the 31-man squad, and then Georgia come calling at Murrayfield on Friday night in Scotland's final match before opening their World Cup campaign against Ireland on 22 September.

  2. Townsend pleased with 'focussed' Scotlandpublished at 19:31 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    FT: Georgia 10-44 Scotland

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has been giving his thoughts to our reporter Andy Burke.

"It was a focussed performance with a lot of aggression. We chipped away at the scoreboard through penalties, and when the game opened up a little bit I thought some of our attack play and support play was excellent," he said.

"We knew we'd be tested in defence around the ruck area, our line-out maul and the scrum and while there's areas to improve there I felt that was a big step up. Our attack game got going, but I still think we could do things a bit better."

I've been back running and training with the team this week. I'm in good shape, this week meant I could get a couple of extra sessions in that travelling away wouldn't have allowed. I'm just at the mercy of the coaching staff for the next week.

I think Gregor Townsend will have picked the squad, apart from maybe the centres.

That was Scotland's last game before the squad is announced on Tuesday. Who's on the plane, who isn't? Give us your thoughts at #BBCSportScot.

  9. 'Scotland snuffed out Georgian passion'published at 19:01 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

Job done. The scoreline was comfortable - that came from the first 15 minutes when Scotland snuffed out the Georgian passion. They managed the game very well, they weren't under a massive amount of pressure at any point. By no means perfect, a couple of things to work on, but the way Scotland's away form has been - that in itself is an achievement, a monkey off the back. Scotland had everything to lose going over there.

The one thing that would slightly concern me is every time Georgia got within 10 meters of the line Scotland conceded penalties. I think going forward - obviously it's a pretty comfortable win - but that's definitely a big area that you would look to address heading towards next week let alone the World Cup.

I must confess, I missed Adam Hastings adding the conversion to Scott Cummings' try. Sorry Adam!

A first win on the road in 14 months for Scotland. A nice tonic ahead of the World Cup. Five tries to boot.

Georgia are battering away, looking for a second try. It's slow stuff, though. A penalty cometh and they'll have a line-out 5m out.

The blood and thunder power game we expected from Georgia just hasn’t materialised. The spell which resulted in Kakha Asieshvili’s try was the one good passage of play, but they have largely been outplayed.

Scotland haven’t been perfect and the set-piece in particular still needs improvement, but a first win on the road in 14 months is a great confidence-builder ahead of the World Cup.

    Scott Cummings

The Glasgow lock gets his first Scotland try!

Scotland win the penalty, tap it, Jamie Bhatti trucks it up and Cummings smashes over off the back of it. The conversion is wayward, the first points missed from the boot tonight.

Long story short, Scotland have Georgia pinned back on their own line. After a botched attack, a chip-kick from Adam Hastings behind his own try-line gets Scotland up the pitch.

Then a Georgian knock on gives Ali Price the opportunity to box-kick into the corner.

No action. Darcy Graham takes a boot to the head but it's deemed accidental. It did look innocuous to be fair, it wasn't a kick.

    On we go, Georgian line-out.
