Gregor [Townsend] has said there are still places up for grabs. He'll be happy with Sam Johnson so far on his return from injury. Scotland are in control so Gregor has the luxury of getting guys off early.

    HT: Georgia 3-20 Scotland

Will he be on the plane to Japan? He's only played about an hour in a Scotland shirt but he's looked so impressive. Solid distribution and a threat with the ball in his hands, he has taken to Test rugby nicely so far at just 23, although Georgia are not quite at the level of Tier One nations. Would you take him to the World Cup?

There's something about the Georgians - they look like the baddies out of James Bond. They've got that look about them which says I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of one of those guys.

  4. Half-time- Georgia 3-23 Scotlandpublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

Job done in the opening 40 for Scotland. Plenty of positives, but they'll want to be a bit sharper in attack after the break.

Ben Toolis finished off a nice move started by Finn Russell for the first of Scotland's two tries, as Rory Hutchinson jinked over shortly after for the second. Georgia have been pretty one dimensional, and have given Greig Laidlaw the chance to knock over three easy penalties.

Full-back Soso Matiashvili got the hosts only points after a high shot by Allan Dell.

Penalty to Scotland. A high tackle by former Glasgow hooker Shalva Mamukashvili gives Greig Laidlaw a chance in front of the sticks.

Here come the boys in blue! Darcy Graham is so close to ducking and diving his way over. They're 5m short....

Ooft, Scotland get away with one after a shambles at the line-out. Grant Gilchrist collects the ball but it's fumbled by John Barclay who chucks a pass, intercepted by scrum-half Vasil Lobzhanidze. The Brive player is stopped and, fortunately for Scotland, his offload to Otar Giorgadze goes to deck.

Scotland then get the penalty at the scrum and they're up the pitch with an attacking line-out.

    Soso Matiashvili

Apologies, it was the full-back Soso Matiashvili who lined up the kick 25m out in front of the posts, and he bangs it over.

Georgia are not getting any change out of the Scotland defence, but Allan Dell hits his man high and Tedo Abzhandadze will have the chance to get the hosts on the board.

Scotland have done everything they set out to do in the opening stages of this game. They’ve denied Georgia any sort of momentum and scored two cracking tries.

Slightly disappointing to see the stadium less than two thirds full but the Georgians who are here are creating a fair old din. Whenever a big tackle goes in or they threaten to make a break the noise levels go through the roof.

The Georgian pack slap themselves on the back as they win a scrum penalty. Can they get themselves together now. Tedo Abzhandadze takes them up the field and they'll have the line-out.

Scotland are really in control of this game. There's not a lot of shape to the Georgian attack. It's very much one single line, flat runners. Scotland will be happy defensively, they just want to bring in a little more tempo to their attack.

You know Scotland are confident when back-row John Barclay pops up on the wing and dinks in a kick. Unfortunately for the Edinburgh man, it comes off Otar Giorgadze and goes out.

The one thing Georgia lack is a bit of flair. Their backs are't going to offer too much of a threat. So Scotland know if they defend well they'll force them to kick.

A notable improvement in Scotland's World Cup warm-ups has been their maul defence. They've staved off a close-range Georgian rumble there, and now face a scrum.

How good is Finn Russell though? Gregor Townsend might just whip the fly-half off at the break if the game is in the bag. Scotland just don't have another like him.

  19. try

Try- Georgia 0-20 Scotlandpublished at 18 mins

    Rory Hutchinson

A first Scotland try for the Northampton centre. It's Finn Russell creating things again as his kick through sends Darcy Graham scampering towards the line.

He's brought down 10 metres out and Scotland reset, and go few a through phases before Hutchinson jinks through a gaping hole in the midfield to score on his first Scotland start. Laidlaw keeps up his 100% record with the boot so far.

Darcy Graham probably created that. He's such a difficult guy to close down. Finn Russell just sees a wee gap. Great support play from Matt Fagerson who has been fantastic in the first 15 minutes.
