  1. Historic day for Georgiapublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

Speaking to head coach Milton Haig there, and indeed the locals around Tbilisi this week, you are left in no doubt how big a day this is for Georgia and the country as a whole.

The cabbie who dropped us at the stadium was heading home for a quick change then coming back to Dinamo Arena to roar on his heroes. “We’re not bad, you know,” were his parting words.

And Georgia aren’t bad. If Scotland start slowly and get themselves into a hole like they have done so often then this could get ugly.

But if they play to anything near their capacity they should win, and win well. Those first 10 minutes will be intriguing.

  2. Jerseys up for grabspublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    Georgia v Scotland (17:00)

Gregor Townsend names his final 31 -man squad for the World Cup on Tuesday. You'd expect the head coach will have a fair idea of the players who will be travelling to Japan, but there may be a few positions still in the balance. This evening is the last chance for those on the fringes to force their way on to that plane, particularly those who didn't cover themselves in glory in the battering by France in Nice.
