  1. try

Try- Georgia 0-13 Scotlandpublished at 13 mins

    Ben Toolis

Lovely score! But, Georgia continue to shoot themselves in the foot. Talented fly-half Tedo Abzhandadze has his kick charged down and then they cough up the ball.

Finn Russell takes the ball to the line, ghosts through a gap and offloads to Matt Fagerson who ships it to Greig Laidlaw and then the scrum-half pops it to Toolis to touch down. Laidlaw adds the extras and Scotland are cruising.

  2. Penalty- Georgia 0-6 Scotlandpublished at 11 mins

    Greig Laidlaw

Laidlaw could knock those over in his sleep. Scotland are building nicely, but it was a gift after another offside infringement by Georgia.

  3. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Georgia 0-3 Scotland

It is yet another penalty now for Scotland, Georgia are causing all their own problems. Greig Laidlaw lines up another in front of the sticks.

  4. Postpublished at 8 mins

    Georgia 0-3 Scotland

Great work over the ball by Scotland captain Stuart McInally. He wins the penalty and Scotland have a line-out 5m from the Georgia line.

It's a positive start. We've not conceded which is unusual at this stage for Scotland. Considering who we've got at the World Cup it's important you don't lose points early.

  6. Penalty- Georgia 0-3 Scotlandpublished at 6 mins

    Greig Laidlaw

An easy one for one of world rugby's most accurate men off the tee after a penalty for offside.

  7. Postpublished at 5 mins

    Georgia 0-0 Scotland

That's the first infringement now too. Georgia kill the ball at a ruck. Scotland kick and will have an attacking line-out in the Georgia 22. Big chance.

    Georgia 0-0 Scotland

It's no surprise Finn Russell gets his kicks charged down. It's just the way he kicks, the improvisation he has. Last week he was putting some brilliant kicks in, that's just the way it is, he'll make errors.

  9. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Georgia 0-0 Scotland

That was a bit sloppy. Finn Russell's kick is charged down by Georgia lock Kote Mikautadze, and the ball goes dead down Scotland's end. It's Scotland's scrum in their own half now.

  10. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Georgia 0-0 Scotland

Scotland's first line-out, which has been a problem in their previous two matches, goes smoothly. They're going through the phases just inside the Georgia half.

  15. Georgians desperate for tier one scalppublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    Georgia v Scotland (17:00)

They may not be one of rugby's so-called 'Tier One' nations, but Georgia will pose a significant test for Scotland tonight. You can get the lowdown in detail on Georgian rugby here, but let me precis.

Their pack is massive, they're champing at the bit to give one of the bigger nations a bloody nose, and they'll be roared on by 53,000 supporters willing their team to show the world they belong at the top table. Tough.

  16. Scotland need fast start against 'unknown' - Townsendpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    Georgia v Scotland (17:00)

After consistently conceding soft tries early in games, Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend is urging his men to start fast to quell the feisty Tbilisi atmosphere. "It's really important we take away any energy Georgia have whether that's coming from the crowd or the way they're playing," Townsend told BBC Scotland.

"We've got to impose our game on them- the first 10 or 20 minutes will be crucial in knowing what opposition we're up against but also taking away their confidence early.

"We know how big a challenge this is with it being the first game in Georgia against a Tier One nation, and it's a bit of the unknown. We anticipate a noisy atmosphere, a very powerful Georgian team and a real challenge for 80 minutes."

Townsend risks stars to shake off travel bugpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    Georgia v Scotland (17:00)

There was much debate about whether Gregor Townsend should rest Scotland's irreplaceables, namely Finn Russell and Hamish Watson, for this match in case they crock one from the sizeable Georgian pack.

As it happens, he's selected both in a strong side as he looks to change Scotland's fortunes on the road. They've won two in 40 away from home against England, Ireland, France and Wales since 2000 and haven't fared much better against others either. Fielding his front-liners at risk of injury, as we saw with Sam Skinner last week, is clearly a gamble worth taking in the search for much-needed World Cup momentum.

You can read our man Andy Burke's analysis of that dilemma here.

  18. Georgia look to make Six Nations casepublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    Georgia v Scotland (17:00)

Georgia head coach, Milton Haig, has been speaking to BBC Scotland about the significance of today's match for his side.

"For Georgian Rugby it's a huge event. It's not just for rugby but for the country as well," he said. "From a rugby perspective it's important but from a tourism point of view as well. We want other Six Nations countries to hear great stories about coming to Tbilisi so that when conversations are had about expanding the Six Nations, that comes into the equation.

"Win or lose, we're looking for credibility in performance."

  20. Centre of attentionpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 31 August 2019

    Georgia v Scotland (17:00)

An area of selection intrigue for Scotland remains the centre positions, such are the options at Gregor Townsend's disposal. Sam Johnson is fit to start his first warm-up match after becoming first-choice during the Six Nations, and partners Rory Hutchinson, who did well during his short cameo off the bench in the mauling in Nice.

If we assume Duncan Taylor will be on the plane, then there is still Huw Jones and Pete Horne to throw into the mix too. Who will make the cut, and who will start in the World Cup opener against Japan remains a fascinating discussion. Who would you take?
