Given the way the game has gone, I think that Joe Schmidt will actually be happy with this scoreline. For me Wales have been the dominant side in the opening half-hour.

Rhys Patchell has been forced off with a head injury suffered in the build-up to the first Ireland try and replacement Dan Biggar made an immediate impression with an interception but was just held up by Rob Kearney.

But Hadleigh Parkes dived over for Wales' opening try which Halfpenny converts.

Rhys Patchell is not coming back on the field so Biggar will be on permanently. A big blow for Patchell.

    Ireland 7-0 Wales

Trouble for Wales. Rhys Patchell is heading to the touchline. Not too sure what is up with the Wales fly-half. He bravely took down a couple of maurading back row in the passage of play before the try. It might just be a head injury assessment.

Dan Biggar is on in his place.

That Rory Best's first two line-outs were stolen will have done nothing for the Irish public's already shaken confidence in their team's set-piece.

But, the third one set-up a try as has so often been the case in the Joe Schmidt era.

It is a massive weapon for them... when they get it right.

The first opportunity that Ireland have they take. They got field position when Rhys Patchell missed his tackle on Bundee Aki. Jonathan Davies just got a bit tight to Rob Kearney, who changed his angle and gout around his outside shoulder.
