You have to say it is Wales asking the questions at the moment, but the highlight for Ireland so far has been Robbie Henshaw's defence. He really picks him man and his moment perfectly.

Ireland will be happy to have it scoreless at this stage.

Ireland make a hash of their clearance and Wales opt for the scrum.

Wales throw the ball wide to Leigh Halfpenny, who is keen to make amends for that early miss, as he prods the ball through.

But Rob Kearney is on hand to win the race and dot down behind his own line.

    Frantic start at the Aviva.

Leigh Halfpenny's early penalty kick miss was a surprise to Adrian Hadley, who joked: "If he keeps kicking like that he won't make the starting XV in Japan."

I thought that would have been straightforward for a kicker of Leigh Halfpenny's calibre, but the full-back pushes it wide from just inside the Irish half.

    Shows how much I know.

Ireland collect the ball and clear their lines with a roar from the home crowd.

How much are the bookies offering on Joe Schmidt bringing himself on for his final home game?

In the warm-up the 53-year-old Kiwi put himself on the right wing and looked like he had been playing there for years.

Then he switched himself to the left where, after failing to collect Garry Ringrose's pass which in fairness was round his ankles, he called time on the experiment and went back to just coaching.

    Worth a try though.

  20. Decisions, decisionspublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 7 September 2019

Kleyn in, Toner out has been the main point of conversation since Ireland's squad announcement.

Much of the discussion has surrounded the residency rule, with Kleyn qualifying for Ireland via residency just two days before their opening warm-up game against Italy last month.

The fairness of this rule has been discussed in columns, phone-ins and press conferences - but surely the far more pressing is why Kleyn over Toner?

Schmidt loves Toner, as evidenced by the fact that he has capped the Leinster lock more times than any other player (60) since becoming Ireland head coach in 2013. So it's not a decision he'll have taken lightly.

Kleyn is, as Schmidt pointed out, a specialist tight-head lock, and the sheer ballast he offers around the pitch and in the scrum seems to have tipped the scales in his favour.

Will Toner's presence at the line-out be missed? Will Kleyn's power justify his selection?

Some questions might even get answered this afternoon.
