    Edinburgh 7-7 Glasgow Warriors

Ach, that's a shame. Edinburgh loose-head Pierre Schoeman is done for an early engagement, Glasgow win a free-kick, and we don't get to see what the Warriors had up their sleeve from that bizarrely configured set-piece.

  2. Harley is playing centre...published at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Edinburgh 7-7 Glasgow Warriors

Right. This is interesting. Glasgow are putting in to a scrum 5m from their own line. Rob Harley, the blind-side flanker, and Sam Johnson, the centre, have swapped places.

Harley is standing in midfield by the posts and Johnson is packing down in the back-row.

  3. Scrum Glasgow!published at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Edinburgh 7-7 Glasgow Warriors

That's big moment for Glasgow. I'm not convinced Rob Harley was operating within the bounds of the law there, but tell me a good back-row forward who does.

The flame-haired flanker absolutely loves making a nuisance of himself and he disrupts the Edinburgh drive to win Glasgow a scrum.

  4. They go again...published at 15:34 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Edinburgh 7-7 Glasgow Warriors

Edinburgh go for the drive. Glasgow infringe, Scott Cummings hauling down WP Nel from the maul.

    Kinghorn to the corner again...

    Edinburgh 7-7 Glasgow Warriors

Oh, hello. Here come Edinburgh again. They win a penalty just inside the Glasgow half and Blair Kinghorn's massive punt takes them to within 15m of the visitors' line.

This will be one for the bruisers...

  7. converted try

    Huw Jones

    Boom. A ruthless response.

Glasgow use their heavy artillery to punch hole after hole, sucking the Edinburgh forwards in.

They move it wide, and there is an acre of space for Huw Jones to run on to Ruaridh Jackson's pop pass and saunter round under the sticks. Adam Hastings converts. We're all-square again.

    Edinburgh 7-0 Glasgow Warriors

Another Glasgow penalty. Another Hastings punt. This time, a safely secured line-out. The white jerseys begin to make headway into the Edinburgh 22.

Brilliant try for me. You just can’t defend that type of skill. A bit of skill and a bit of class. What a cracking try.

  10. Edinburgh destroying Glasgow's line-outpublished at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Edinburgh 7-0 Glasgow Warriors

Glasgow look to respond immediately to that stunning Graham try. Stuart McInally is pinned on the wrong side of a ruck and concedes a penalty.

Hastings kicks Glasgow down to the home 22. Their line-out has been decimated by the Edinburgh pack so far. This is a big one... and they lose it again! Ben Toolis the pilferer this time. Massive set-piece issues for Dave Rennie.

  11. Graham on the express trainpublished at 15:26 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

Darcy Graham was like an express train going down the touchline. What a wonderful attacking try from Edinburgh.

  12. converted try

    Darcy Graham

    Glorious. Absolutely glorious rugby.

It started with yet another line-out steal from Edinburgh on their own 22. Duhan van der Merwe galloped some 60m, absolutely melting Ruaridh Jackson in the process.

Edinburgh go left, then right, and an outrageous back-door off-load from Bill Mata sends Darcy Graham scampering clear up the touchline. That's a try of the season contender.

Simon Hickey knocks over the conversion.

  13. Postpublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow Warriors

Edinburgh are putting themselves under pressure again now. Nic Groom launches a box kick up the left touchline but he launches it a little too far left and it's out on the full.

Glasgow have a line-out but again, Edinburgh pinch it, and suddenly Duhan van der Merwe is rampaging out of defence.

Absolutely nothing in this so far. Seventeen minutes gone, no score.

    Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow Warriors

No, is the answer. Glasgow can't maul their way over. Ruaridh Jackson tries the chip to the corner for the racing Ratu Tagive, but he's put too much on it and Edinburgh have a 5m line-out.

Warriors try to outfox the Edinburgh pack by not engaging with the drive, but they don't get it quite right and concede a penalty. Easy out for the hosts, but another solid defensive set from Edinburgh as they keep Glasgow out again.

  16. Postpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow Warriors

Now it's a huge chance for Glasgow to strike.

Hamish Watson is back covering for Edinburgh but his pass only finds Adam Hastings, and the flanker is then penalised for not rolling away.

Warriors boot to the corner. Can they convert?

  17. Bennett misfirespublished at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow Warriors

From the line-out that follows, Edinburgh target Huw Jones in defence. The centre is frequently criticised for his tackling but he brings down hulking Bill Mata with a fine chop tackle.

Mark Bennett spies space in behind the Glasgow defence but his probing kick flies out on the full and Glasgow launch an attack of their own.

  18. Postpublished at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow Warriors

Edinburgh get the upper hand in the scrummage. They win a free-kick, then back their set-piece again and earn a penalty. Blair Kinghorn hoofs the home side into Glasgow territory.

  19. 'This game has really opened up'published at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow Warriors

    Scott Hastings
Former Scotland player on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

Real attacking intent from Glasgow and this game has really opened up and started well. We didn’t forecast that.

  20. Edinburgh refuse to budgepublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Edinburgh 0-0 Glasgow Warriors

Warriors go through the phases, but Edinburgh stand firm. Very firm. Some big old hits go in and Oli Kebble's pass to Ruaridh Jackson doesn't go to hand. Edinburgh scrum. That's a big psychological boost.
