Watson and May have the bit between their teeth, but Eliot Daly isn't quite getting into the spaces he wants to. Watson and May have been so industrious

Owen Farrell has fumbled a couple of passess in the past three minutes as England have tried to spread it wide. An Italian forward enjoyed reminding him about his error there.

England have made 12 handling errors so far, three times as many as Italy's four.

Jonny May's incredible finish at the end of the first half might offer a welcome distraction from some of England's mistakes today.

What about that intent from Garbisi? If the back field is full, just go cross field - lovely stuff!

It was. A peach of a cross-field kick and Elliot Daly did not cover himself in glory in defence. Too easily shrugged off by the Italian wing.

Maybe I'm going against the grain of English pessimism, but I think England are playing well!

How do you practice this sort of thing? Diving unopposed into the corner, which would look a little strange? Or getting out the crash mat and hurling yourself around the gym?

Whatever, it looks great on the back pages tomorrow.

Rachel T: Jonny May knew that would look amazing in slow motion, set to Chariots of Fire

These loose passes will get punished in the next three games if we don't sharpen up. Still, nice to have a box office winger like May delivering the goods like that.

This has to be one of the most frustrating games I've ever watched England play. What is going on with them all?!

Seven for me. Italy have brought an intensity - they have showed how they want to play. In a lot of games they look rudderless, but they look well-drilled. There is scope for England to plug the gaps we have seen in the first 40 minutes.

It's an amazing touchdown, but can you jump out of a tackle? I'm not sure you can.

That would have looked better last week in the Super Bowl!

    Jonny May

It is a superb finish. The sort of thing you see on social media from under the NRL lights.

Jonny May dives for the line but goes high so that Monty Ioane's tackle takes him into the corner flag rather than touch.

He makes sure that the ball is the first thing to touch down and that is a legitimate score to close the half.

Owen Farrell can't land the extras from out wide.
