He is physically imposing and to play for that long takes a lot mentally as well.

Each Six Nations, I allow my 1/4 Welsh blood usurp my 3/4 English blood for this fixture - at the outrage of every one who watches with me. Does this make me a bad person, or does the heart want want the heart wants? Go on Wales.

  7. 'Farrell is not the only one who has not played well'published at 16:32 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

    Wales v England (16:45 GMT)

    Martin Johnson
Former England captain and coach on BBC One

Owen Farrell has carried the can for England not playing well - that is part of being captain.

The thing for him today is to be cool, calculating and lead with that example. His team have got to back him up.

When your team plays well it's easy to be a good captain. Everyone needs to turn up.

There are other players who didn't play well in the first two games - not just Owen.

Ian Botham, now officially known as Lord Botham of Ravensworth OBE, is an English sporting legend and a cricketing icon.

That's because his grandson, Cardiff Blues back-rower James Botham, is on the Wales bench this afternoon.

BBC Sport Wales spoke to James' grandfather and his father, former Cardiff RFC wing Liam, about the 23-year-old's rise - and his unwavering allegiance to Wales.

England need to get Ben Youngs running today.

England haven't really got a power runner in the backline - Wales have got George North.

Ben needs to get his forwards running. That will give England some momentum and put Wales under pressure.

    Wales v England (16:45 GMT)

Wales head coach Wayne Pivac said on BBC One:

"Louis Rees-Zammit is a pretty level-headed young man. He has scored some good tries and he's kept his feet on the ground.

"We've talked about the Triple Crown. Getting silverware is nice. We'd love to do it but we know there's a big 80 minutes ahead of us.

"England are a very good side. They're going to hit their straps at some stage and we're going to do our best to make sure it's not today."

He has what no-one can coach or train – he has gas, and out and out speed, like Jonny May. That’s an incredible battle that we have not seen in a Wales-England game for many years – genuine speed and club mates opposite each other.

    James Hook
Former Wales fly-half on BBC Radio Wales

What a great day it is.

You can just imagine if the crowds were allowed in, Cardiff would be bouncing today, inside and outside of the pubs.

In the stadium when the teams are warming up, you'd usually have the band and the male voice choir.

But when that whistle goes for kick off, it's still going to be one heck of a battle.

  16. Ghostly silencepublished at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

    Wales v England (16:45 GMT)

Not to labour the point about empty stadiums but the absence of crowds is particularly pronounced when Wales face England in Cardiff.

The closer you get to the Principality Stadium, the less it feels like a match day.

Springtime sunshine, a gentle hum of anticipation on the streets of Canton and Pontcanna - but that drifts off into ghostly silence once you’re near and then inside the ground.

  18. Rees-Zammit a hit with my step-daughters and the grandmothers - Pivacpublished at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

    Wales v England (16:45 GMT)

Pivac has also been discussing the newest star of Welsh rugby, Louis Rees-Zammit.

The 20-year-old Gloucester wing has scored three tries in his two matches of this Six Nations, and his spectacular chip-and-chase effort against Scotland was the score of the second round.

Wales head coach Pivac believes Rees-Zammit has a bright future in the game - and he has also noticed how 'Rees Lightning' has been making a big impression off the field too.
