    Wales 10-6 England

You may recall that Josh Adams scored from a Dan Biggar cross-field kick the last time these two sides met in a Six Nations match in Cardiff.

That was 2019 and Wales won on the way to winning a Grand Slam.

  2. Penalty - Wales 10-6 Englandpublished at 20 mins

    Owen Farrell

England are back within four points, thanks to a fine Owen Farrell kick from near the Welsh 10-metre line.

I'm amazed it's been allowed but it is something that Biggar very much enjoys.

Josh Adams did very well holding his wing.

Farrell has to be careful. There are certain things you do and don't say to referees regardless of how you feel.

  7. try

Converted try - Wales 10-3 Englandpublished at 17 mins

    Josh Adams

It's in more than kickable range - it's in sneaky try range!

Instead of kicking at the posts, Wales fly-half Dan Biggar takesthe penalty quickly and aims a cross-field kick to the left, where wing Josh Adams catches and touches down.

Superb quick thinking from Biggar and Adams.

Biggar converts well from the touchline. Excellent start for Wales.

    Wales 3-3 England

The Welsh maul is stopped in its tracks and then the forwards take the direct route, picking and driving at their opponents.

England's defence is solid (and loud, screaming encouragement to each other with every tackle) but eventually they concede a penalty, again, in kickable range.

Elles Bilton: Love Itoje. Especially now the commentator has called him 'such a nuisance'.

    Wales 3-3 England

England get the ball back and Ben Youngs clears into touch, but still inside their 22.

Wales' line-out has functioned well enough so far, and they have another decent attacking platform here.

  11. 'Plenty of endeavour from England'published at 14 mins

    Wales 3-3 England

    Matt Dawson
Former England scrum-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

    A nice bounceback from England.

We saw the attack-minded mentality we've heard so much about in the last few weeks.

There is plenty of endeavour. I questioned whether they had the mindset and rugby intelligence for these big games.

So far it has been fairly evenly matched and that is reflected on the scoreboard.

Maro Itoje is everywhere in these early stages, both good and bad.

He's disrupting Welsh play but he's conceding penalties as he does it. That's a third he's conceded already.

Wales kick into the English 22 again.

Dan Smith: With regards to playing in front of an empty stadium, if wearing the shirt of your nation is not enough of an incentive for you to play at your highest level, then you shouldn’t be wearing it.

    Jonathan Davies

A great break, a loose ball that they capitalised on but Wales were fortunate there was no support for Ben Youngs - otherwise it was the first try.

  15. Penalty - Wales 3-3 Englandpublished at 12 mins

    Owen Farrell

No problem for Owen Farrell, who slots over a simple penalty to even things up.

Alan Shugar: Right from the start England’s discipline looks very questionable yet again, 3 penalties in 4 minutes, can see defeat again here.

Small Man Peaky: England giving away 3 penalties in the first 4 minutes. Again. The test for them is to arrest this flow of infringements. They've proven themselves incapable of doing so before.

Rebecca: Two penalties in a row conceded by Itoje. Early runner for the red card?

    Wales 3-0 England

The first scrum of the game passess without incident, Wales retaining possession.

The speed of ball is initially slow and England lock Jonny Hill has a little wrestle with Dan Biggar after the ball is gone.

But after a brief kicking exchange, England get the ball and the first break of the game comes from their scrum-half Ben Youngs, who darts into the Welsh half.

England have a penalty in front of the posts and an excellent chance to draw level.

  18. 'Confident start from Wales'published at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2021

    Wales 3-0 England

    Rhys Patchell
Wales fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Live

Very confident start from Wales. Very energetic, hungry for the second ball on the floor.

We have already seen the Welsh pack turn a couple of balls over at the ruck.

No question about Itoje's ability but his penalty count in the game can really disadvantage this England team!

    Cameron Kennedy

This referee has already shown his agenda. Whistle happy and will ruin the game!

    Wales 3-0 England

A slight scare for Wales there as a Kieran Hardy clearance is charged down by Maro Itoje but full-back Liam Williams is on hand to cover and secure a 22 drop-out.

Quick start to this match so far.

Wales then earn a scrum on the halfway line to nick possession back from England.
