Ireland could finish second, which is massive from where they were. England are fifth, second from bottom, not a good day. England tend to be ruthless with coaches - Eddie Jones could be under pressure.

  4. 'England were not in the game'published at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2021

Ireland had motivation and used it, but didn't get carried away by the emotion of the game.

England, yet again we are talking about the inability to play the right style of rugby against the opposition. They were not in the game in any way, shape or form. No-one from the England camp can wrap it up with any reasons - they were not in this game for 90% of it.

  6. 'A massively emotional performance' - Henshawpublished at 19:08 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2021

    FT: Ireland 32-18 England

Ireland's man of the match Robbie Henshaw told BBC Radio 5 Live:

"It was important that we finish on as a high a note as possible.

"For CJ [Stander], mainly, he has offered so much to this team – for the fans who can’t be here, we wanted to give them something to cheer about.

"We were disappointed with the first two games, it’s about showing the heights we can hit when we are on and in the future.

"It was a massively emotional performance, and you are playing England, so you have to be up for it. We showed it today and it was a good performance from us."

    FT: Ireland 32-18 England

England flanker Tom Curry told ITV:

"I'm obviously very disappointed. It's pretty gutting.

"We knew it was going to be a really physical encounter. The past three times we have played them it has been all about physicality and today was no different.

"A bit of discipline cost us here and there. In the last 20 we showed a bit more of a glimpse of what we're about.

"It was that middle section where we need to back it up and we probably didn't do that today."

    Neil Jeffery: Taxi for Eddie

I can't fathom how England can be so poor with players of this quality. It just feels like such a waste.

  9. 'We have set the standard now' - Sextonpublished at 18:58 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2021

    FT: Ireland 32-18 England

Ireland captain Johnny Sexton told ITV:

"It was brilliant. We felt like we weren't far away all through the Championship.

"That was the performance we wanted against one of the best sides in the world who we have massive respect for.

"That is the standard we have set now and hopefully we can keep backing it up.

"The boys were outstanding in the backs in terms of ball in the air.

"We still felt we should have stopped the last try. We showed great guts throughout the tournament. Sometimes when you don't take your chances, sometimes your performances don't look as good as they should."

Too many times too many individuals and the team give away too many penalties, and they don't do anything about it. The one time they did, last week in the first half, they were a completely different team. It is a massive problem and they need to address it.

  13. England pay for ill disciplinepublished at 18:45 Greenwich Mean Time 20 March 2021

    FT: Ireland 32-18 England

This will be the last thing on Ireland's mind as they celebrate finishing their Six Nations on a high, but the penalty count was high in that match.

    Ireland conceded 12, England 14.

That means England's penalty count has been in double figures in every one of their Six Nations matches this year.

Unsurprisingly there is plenty of room for Jonny May on the left.

With Ireland two men down, the England wing steps round Hugo Keenan to score.

Elliot Daly takes a quick conversion to cut Ireland's lead to 14.
