Ireland have been clinical, they've been so well organised round the breakdown that England have not realised the space is elsewhere. England need to change the mindset pretty quickly.

Very surprised Jones persists with Farrell, Ford and Youngs. Needs a refresh.

Ireland have been clinical and more ruthless than in the past. Poor defence from England at the end has made it a whole lot easier for Ireland.

Farrell's misdemeanour is more or less the last action of the half.

Johnny Sexton kicks to touch as soon as the clock goes red and leads his side in with a 14-point lead.

Owen Farrell laughs as he is penalised for rolling on the floor. The England captain decided not to talk to the referee in the France game after some difficult relations in this year's Six Nations. It seems he is carrying on with that. The referee gets a laugh but nothing more.

That was superb rugby, no question about it! The decision making around the phases was amazing.

This is how Andy Farrell has been telling us he wants his side to play. Variety, quick ball and never failing to get round the corner.

It wasn't a fast start, but this is by a distance the best half we've seen in the Farrell era.

Ireland condensed the England defence, and then really smart play from Jack Conan to go around the corner.

Try - Ireland 20-6 Englandpublished at 37 mins

    Jack Conan

Perfect way to finish the half.

Something was indeed building. England never had a chance to catch their breath and Jack Conan makes the most of a big gap in the defensive line to step out of Luke Cowan-Dickie's tackle, sprint through and stretch for the line.

Johnny Sexton maintains his 100% record from the tee.

Ireland's forwards pick a few holes in England's defence as Tadhg Furlong sends CJ Stander through a half-gap.

They hover just outside England's 22 before Johnny Sexton sends a cross-field kick which Hugo Keenan successfully collects. Feels like something is building for Ireland here.

A third penalty coughed up by the front row of England's scrum, but Owen Farrell and George Ford aren't going to let their men dwell on it at all.

"Next thing, next thing" screams Ford as Farrell demands Mako Vunipola keeps his energy up.

England are used to having parity in the set-piece but they are not getting it, so they have to react and switch their mindset to paint a different picture.

Mako Vunipola is penalised at the scrum again for going early and Tadhg Furlong is outraged.

The referee upgrades Ireland's free-kick to a penalty, which Johnny Sexton kicks to touch. Vunipola is having a very weird afternoon so far.

Neither captain is blinking yet. Kyle Sinckler may still be after his poke in the eye.

    Ireland 10-6 England

Kyle Sinckler has had to get some treatment on a very red-looking eye. The referee says there was no foul-play and goes ahead with the scrum.

Mako Vunipola is guilty again as he slips to the floor, giving Ireland a penalty. It's within kicking distance.

There's been a bit of shadow boxing early on, but a fabulous try that exploited England's weakness at the back of the line-out.
