Purple Tentacle: Every time I see Ellis Genge with his bleached hair, I just see Jack Black in Tropic Thunder.

Dave Jackson: Are England the stupidest team in international sport? I don't think I've ever seen a display of brain-dead ill discipline like this, in any sport. Just incomprehensible.

Spudlud: Jones the Mourinho of rugby. Sticks with duff players underperforming. Doesn’t know how to change tactics. Thinks he’s the best coach around. Blames others. Complete dinosaur. The comparison is astounding.

No luck. Cian Healy had knocked the ball on. A massive let-off for England.

Johnny Sexton still has a chance at three points though.

This ball is bouncing out, skew-whiff off the side of the boot and Earls needed the bounce. If he has managed to get it down, it is top-quality finishing from Earls.

    Keith Earls

    Oh my.

Keith Earls manages to tap down a cross-field kick from Johnny Sexton, but Mathieu Raynal wants to check whether there was a knock-on earlier in play.

Iain Henderson gallops through a gap and Ireland are about 10m out.

And things are made even more simple for the hosts as Tadhg Beirne wins a penalty on the floor.

Then comes the familiar picture of Johnny Sexton kicking to touch. This is almost becoming as predictable and repetitive as a Saturday in lockdown.

Ireland keep hold of the ball and there's a bit more kick tennis. George Ford's effort goes too far and Hugo Keenan can call the mark.

England are making this fairly easy for Ireland at the start of the second half.

England keep on box-kicking despite the 14-point deficit.

Eventually Elliot Daly sends it into the corner and Ireland will have to defend a line-out.

Ireland get things under control again as Johnny Sexton kicks to touch.

It's a statement of intent from Eddie Jones - the referee was not happy with how England were scrummaging. They have to change it up - this is a huge margin to get back. It has got to be accurate.

Let's see if those changes can help England do what they've never done before. Win against Ireland in the Six Nations when they've lost the first half.

Elliot Daly and Mark Wilson give them an early boost as they win a penalty on the floor after Keith Earls take a high ball.

England kick to the corner. Seven points would be handy.

Both Kyle Sinckler and Tadhg Furlong toured New Zealand in 2017, with Furlong getting the Test starting nod at tight-head prop and Sinckler on the bench to replace him.

Both are very useful in the loose. And they showed it in the first half.

Sinckler is England's leading metre-maker so far (15) and is the only visiting forward to beat a defender.

Furlong has carried five times, but is yet to make the same impression in yardage terms, with six metres gained.

Interesting battles all over the pitch as players make their final Test pitches for this summer's British and Irish Lions tour/staycation.

Robbie Henshaw has had his hand up high in the first 40.

The Ireland centre has been busy and effective with seven carries (the most of any player) and six tackles (a joint team-high), along with a turnover won.
