  1. Scotland hold on... justpublished at 36 mins

    France 6-10 Scotland

A fifth and then a sixth infringement from Scotland, but somehow, they hold out.

    Heroic defence. Illegal defence, too.

Wayne Barnes makes it very clear that the next Scottish player to concede a penalty will be sin-binned.

France call for the scrum again. Les Bleus smell blood.

Penalty after penalty would normally be a great outcome for France, but not tonight, they need to score. And actually it's playing in favour for Scotland, they need to grind those seconds.

I thought they defended the ball well. Scotland conceding too many penalties at the moment.

  4. Scrum timepublished at 34 mins

    France 6-10 Scotland

A fourth Scottish penalty in quick succession. France choose the scrum, and little wonder, given how the last one panned out. They are virtually beneath the Scotland posts. They will absolutely fancy themselves to convert here.

There's was an opportunity for Ntmack to step off his right foot, he had the defence moving, Chris Harris came in too far after the powerful drive.

France are motoring through the phases here. Another advantage in the bag...

  7. And againpublished at 31 mins

    France 6-10 Scotland

France go careering off in search of their first try. Ntamack runs an arcing line at the Scottish defence, then brings in Damian Penaud off his wing.

The lanky Penaud is scythed down at the second attempt, and suffers a bloodied nose for his troubles.

Scotland had, though, infringed once more, so France have the penalty. Ollivon wants a line-out...

  8. Here come Francepublished at 30 mins

    France 6-10 Scotland

Another quick-fire Scottish infringement. This has been a problem all championship, following one transgression with another.

The French jumper is taken in the air from the restart, and a wonderful Ntamack kick puts France within 10m of the Scottish line.

Winning that penalty will be a delight for the morale of the French players. They needed that. That's why the backs are coming to say thank you.

  11. France turn the screwpublished at 28 mins

    France 3-10 Scotland

The scrum is a mighty old contest, with each side gaining and losing the ascendancy.

This time, it's Cyril Baille who pulverises Zander Fagerson and wins a French penalty. The pressure is just immense on the Scotland tight-head.

Romain Ntamack goes for goal, straight in front, from around 45m.

    France 3-10 Scotland

Better from France; less good from Finn Russell.

The Scotland pivot, short of options, chucks a speculative ball to the isolated Jamie Ritchie.

Over the ball is the hulking Julien Marchand, and France win the penalty.

The home side just can't build momentum, though. They secure the line-out easy enough, then there's a forward pass to the onrushing Virimi Vakatawa.

    France 3-10 Scotland

Antoine Dupont is under immense pressure as Scotland's scrum dismantles their French counterpart. He does so well to flip the ball away to Brice Dulin, and ultimately box-kicks his team downfield.

    Chaos. Utter chaos.

France win the line-out, then lose it in the maul.

Hamish Watson then fumbles in contact in midfield as Scotland look to score again.

France try to run their way out of bother, but Virimi Vakatawa is absolutely atomised by Chris Harris. He was lined up from a good 10m away.

Finn Russell scoops the ball up one-handed and skates over, but Wayne Barnes was still playing advantage for the Watson knock-on.

    This is all very bonkers.

    France 3-10 Scotland

Another superb touch-finder from Scotland, this time Stuart Hogg, who latches on to a stray ball off a French boot and spirals a glorious punt to within a few metres of the try-line.

    Pressure on France again.
