    FT: France 23-27 Scotland

Stuart Hogg, Scotland's skipper, capturing the mood of the nation in this raw photo.

A seismic triumph for Gregor Townsend's troops, who continue their hoodoo-smashing run. A magnificent display of resilience, bravery, and when it mattered, skill, to bring down the curtain on a rollercoaster championship.

Wins at Twickenham and Paris for the first time in the same campaign since 1926. Narrow losses to Wales and Ireland, cloying indiscipline and line-out problems at the forefront, leave a lingering taste of what might have been.

The analysis will come, no doubt. For now, Scotland will savour a tremendous victory, and Hogg's men will be the toast of Wales, who are confirmed as champions.

Thanks for your company tonight, and enjoy your weekend.

A suitably weird try for Dave Cherry, but a vital one for Scotland. That's three in two weeks for the Scotland hooker, who began the season as his country's fourth-choice number two.

  5. Gael and the Gaelpublished at 23:11 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

    FT: France 23-27 Scotland

A nice moment at full-time between Finn Russell and Gael Fickou, who was awarded man of the match by French television.

Rumour has it that Fickou will be joining Russell at Racing 92 next season from Parisian rivals Stade Francais.

Yet another rip-roaring display from Hamish Watson, who has probably been Scotland's player of the championship. A game-best 17 carries for the open-side flanker tonight.

Should Warren Gatland take him to South Africa?

  9. An Everest-sized penalty mountainpublished at 22:54 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

There were 30 - yes, THIRTY - penalties conceded in that howitzer of a game.

Appropriately, the split was 15 shipped apiece. Mental.

  10. Sheedy enters dreamlandpublished at 22:52 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

    FT: France 23-27 Scotland

Wales fly-half Callum Sheedy tells BBC Radio 5 Live: "I still think I'm going to wake up and it's all going to be a dream. It's all happened so quick the last year. I'm really enjoying the ride and long may it continue.

"The more people write us off and tell us how bad we are the better we play.

"When we have our backs against the wall we come out fighting, and I think that's what the Welsh nation is all about.

"We might not have the most talent in the world, but we're up there with having the most heart."

  11. Spare a thought for Bricepublished at 22:50 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

    FT: France 23-27 Scotland

It feels like a lifetime ago, but only six days have passed since Brice Dulin plunged home for last-play try that snatched victory for France against Wales.

He's had a tremendous championship, and was very good today too, but in choosing not to boot the ball out with the clock red, inadvertently gave Scotland one last chance - a chance they took.

By that point, it was immaterial anyway, for France could not claim the title even had they gone 90m to score a bonus-point try.

  13. Van the manpublished at 22:43 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

    FT: France 23-27 Scotland

Tonight's stunning double takes Duhan van der Merwe's Scottish haul to eight tries in 10 caps. It's a ridiculously good return, particularly when three of them have come at the Aviva Stadium, at Twickenham and in the Stade de France.

There is also the small matter of 32 broken tackles in five championship matches, and nearly 500m made with ball in hand. Mental stats.

Some brilliant images coming in from the aftermath of that game.

Chris Harris was a colossal presence for Scotland on both sides of the ball, but particularly in stemming a number of ominous French attacks.

A lot of fans wanted to see the more flamboyant Huw Jones start at 13, but Harris absolutely justified his selection, and why he remains the first choice in his position.

Actually, it's quite a large trophy. The Auld Alliance Trophy, to be precise, which France and Scotland contest each year. Special memories for this lot.

Two incredible victories in England and France, but Scotland still wind up fourth, behind Wales, France and Ireland.

A case of what might have been in those narrow losses at Murrayfield to the Welsh and Irish.
