  1. Scotland on the rampagepublished at 19 mins

    France 3-7 Scotland

Fabulous game management from Scotland and Russell.

The fly-half rakes one to within a yard of the French line, Romain Ntamack and Brice Dulin and swamped by seven Scottish chasers.

Dulin is caught and decked by Jamie Ritchie, who limpets over ball and wins his side a penalty in front of the posts.

Seventh try in nine caps for Van der Merwe, that's a powerful pick and go.

  3. converted try

Converted try France 3-7 Scotlandpublished at 16 mins

    Duhan van der Merwe

Ooft. Stick that in your waffle iron.

You don't see many wingers attempt a pick-and-drive round the fringe. But you don't see many wingers as huge as Duhan van der Merwe.

The giant squirms and stretches and somehow hits the whitewash.

It looks suspiciously like a double-movement, but nobody in Scotland will care.

Finn Russell bangs over the conversion. What a start for Scotland.

  4. Opportunity spurnedpublished at 14 mins

    France 3-0 Scotland

Scotland will feel they should have scored there.

George Turner blasts off the maul on his own, then Scotland follow up with a series of pick-and-drives, before that man Fickou rips the ball from Chris Harris.

There was a penalty advantage, though. To the corner we go again.

  5. Opportunity knocks for Scotlandpublished at 13 mins

    France 3-0 Scotland

Now it's Scotland who milk a set-piece penalty, as their line-out drive edges forward and forward again.

The infringement happened wide on the left, 40m or so out, so Russell punts towards the corner flag.

Enticing field position now for Scotland as they look to land a counter-punch.

  6. Aerial supremacypublished at 12 mins

    France 3-0 Scotland

France are bossing the skies right now, but are looking a little hurried in their own 22, not sure whether to run or kick.

Damien Penaud eventually hares after an Ntamack clearance, gathering very neatly, but is thrown into touch.

    Romain Ntamack

Up steps the French pivot, and through she goes. First blood to the title-chasers.

  10. Postpublished at 10 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

The Scottish scrum is splintered like rotten chipboard in a vice. Penalty France.

Charles Ollivon points to the posts.

  11. Flying Fickoupublished at 8 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

Stunning take from Gael Fickou, as the French winger soars to beat Stuart Hogg to a Brice Dulin up-and-under on the Scottish 22.

Romain Ntamack probes in behind the Scottish line, Duhan van der Merwe skites down on the ball, and is bundled over his own line. Scrum-five, French put-in, massive opportunity for the home side.

  12. Turner hits his manpublished at 5 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

The attack comes to nothing as Antoine Dupont's fizzing flat ball smashes off the chest and through the hands of Bernard Le Roux. The ball looks incredibly slippery as the rain continues to fall.

Scotland win a line-out just outside their own 22, and it's a good nerve-settling dart from George Turner, whose throws were picked off so prolifically by the Irish pack.

  14. Fickou pouncespublished at 4 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

It all gets a bit messy for Scotland as they try to put France under pressure around the home 10m line.

Nick Haining spills in contact, then Chris Harris gets scragged way behind the gain line.

Over the ball goes Gael Fickou, penalty France, and they boot down to the Scottish 22.

  15. Beautiful from Russellpublished at 2 mins

    France 0-0 Scotland

That is a majestic touch-finder from Finn Russell to within 5m of the French line, but France take the line-out quickly through Brice Dulin.

Already, it looks like this game will be played at a furious tempo.

  16. Kick-offpublished at 20:00 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

Here we go! With a blast of Wayne Barnes' whistle, the Six Nations finale is under way as Stuart Hogg gets us going.

Even sans-fans, La Marseillaise is a properly rousing anthem.

Passion pouring out of many of those French players.

They are, remember, gunning for a first title since 2010.

  18. What a stat...published at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

    France v Scotland (20:00)

A belter of a stat has just been thrown my way by BBC Radio Scotland's rugby commentator, Stuart McFarlane.

The last time Scotland beat England at Twickenham and France in Paris in the same championship was 1926. Ninety-five years ago!

Rather typically, having seen off Wales at home, they managed to lose 3-0 to Ireland in Edinburgh, which Scotland them a Grand Slam and meant the two sides shared the title.

    Plus ca change, eh...

I can confirm, as the music falls silent for the second verse, that Stuart Hogg is a better rugby player than singer.

  20. Now for the anthemspublished at 19:55 Greenwich Mean Time 26 March 2021

Flower of Scotland peals out around an empty Stade de France. We're almost there.
