It's hard to tell from up here but Wales seem to have the wind in their favour too, seeing Johnny Sexton miss those kicks. If they can't take advantage of that, Ireland will have even more confidence going into the second half.

    Ireland 10-0 Wales

An Irish knock-on presents Wales with a chance to attack, and Johnny McNicholl goes haring down the left wing.

This is more like it from Wales as they move into the Irish 22 - but the move breaks down with a knock-on between Tomos Williams and Ellis Jenkins.

    Ireland 10-0 Wales

Jamison Gibson-Park's box kick is not the best but a Wales knock-on gives Ireland another scrum near their 10-metre line.

Wales will be happy to be playing the game in Ireland's half for a change, but they're still not seeing much of the ball.

It's hard to remember Wales being involved in a more one-sided quarter when they have been dominated by their opponents to such a degree.

The only positive at this point is Wales are only 10 points down.

An excellent kick from Dan Biggar. The only time Ireland have been under any kind of pressure.

    Ireland 10-0 Wales

Wales steal the line-out thanks to good work from Adam Beard.

They have the ball in the Irish 22 but the home defence is strong.

Tadhg Beirne holds up Ryan Elias, a maul is called and Ireland will have a scrum.

    Ireland 10-0 Wales

    Wales have the ball!

They gather their own kick-off and at least go through a few phases for the first time, but it's all around halfway.

Dan Biggar says enough is enough and drills a fine kick bouncing into touch in the Irish 22.

    Johnny Sexton

No amount of wind is going to stop Johnny Sexton from there.

An easy kick and Ireland extend their lead.

Wales are under constant pressure. We've had almost 20 minutes play and we've only been talking about Ireland.

    Ireland 7-0 Wales

Ireland are relentless. Gibson-Park tries a little grubber behind the Welsh defence and, although Rees-Zammit dabs down again, Ireland have a penalty in front of the posts.

This could get ugly for Wales.

    Nervy moments for Wales.

    Ireland 7-0 Wales

Louis Rees-Zammit clears but back come Ireland, with Andrew Conway gathering his own kick.

Jamison Gibson-Park then launches a box-kick, which Rees-Zammit just about gets down over his own try line and Wales have a drop-out on their own line.

    Ireland 7-0 Wales

A first Irish mistake as Josh van der Flier drops the ball near the Welsh 22.

The visitors will have a scrum deep in their own territory and they'll be hoping for some sort of respite from the constant Irish pressure.

To miss two out of three kicks in the opening 15 minutes, you don't see that from Johnny Sexton very often.

The variety in Ireland's play is really good, they're not kicking too much. It's putting Wales on the back foot and they can't get any line speed.

  17. Missed penaltypublished at 14 mins

    Ireland 7-0 Wales

    Johnny Sexton's missed another.

There's a strong wind but that's well below his usual standards as his second penalty sails to the right of the posts.

  18. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Ireland 7-0 Wales

Garry Ringrose almost breaks through for Ireland near halfway but he's hauled down.

Still the waves of Irish attacks come, though. They're flowing through their phases smoothly and Wales are struggling to cope with the pace of their play.

I have been watching Louis Rees-Zammit who has understandably not looked quite right since he came out to start the game with a heavily strapped right ankle.

Two Irish moves down came down his side after new cap Mack Hansen glided outside him and then the Gloucester wing was left exposed by his team-mates with Johnny Sexton's long pass finding Bundee Aki for the try.

Let's hope he gets a chance to show his attacking prowess and searing speed.

  20. Missed penaltypublished at 10 mins

    Ireland 7-0 Wales

That was rather unlike Johnny Sexton, who pushes his penalty wide to the right.

Ireland are utterly dominant at the moment.
