Ha. Just shows you cannot rely on stats to tell the true story.

Possession and territory are pretty much 50-50 and France have actually made twice as many tackles as Wales.

However Wales have given away nine penalties compared to France's two and that's all from the pressure the hosts are piling on.

At the end of the day there's only one stat that matters... the scoreboard.

France are enjoying themselves out there, unfortunately Wales just can't get a grip of the momentum at the moment.

It'll be interesting to see what Ioan and Hannah will have to say.

BBC Sport Wales at Stade des Alpes

We were forecast rain in the stadium this evening, but the only thing that's rained here is tries.

    France looking absolutely rampant.

As soon as they get the ball, they're looking to get it out wide, where they look so dangerous.

They play a brand that's a pleasure to watch and a nightmare to defend.

Ioan Cunnigham has his work cut out at half-time.

This French team are just so good at playing what's in front of them.

  5. Half-time - France 29-0 Walespublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

That whistle could not have come quick enough for Wales!

Four tries conceded and they just haven't got into this game.

That knock on from the kick off has really set the tone for a muted display.

They have to find a way of imposing themselves but you also have to marvel at some of the French play from their backs.

Try - France 29-0 Walespublished at 40 mins

    Melissande Llorens

The winger grabs a second but she had to wrestle Lisa Neuman to get the ball down.

Jessy Tremouliere takes her time but misses the conversion with the final kick of the half.

Elinor Snowsill really put her body on the line to stop that attack, but I think she's feeling it.

    The skipper looks pretty groggy.

Brilliant from the Welsh defence. Showing a lot of character there.

France had so many options then that they actually got in each other's way and are pinged for crossing.

Wales scrum under their own posts to clear the danger.

Hale is back on after completing her head injury assessment.

Shame that Tuipulotu is going off. She looked Wales' best threat.

This is just relentless from France.

Their forwards are picking holes all around the rucks and making easy yards.

Another attacking French lineout strays and Wales will again have a chance to clear their line - if they can hold the scrum.

They do - but only just!

    Gareth Bailey
BBC Sport Wales at Stade des Alpes

The crowd have been in full voice today, every offload, sidestep and big tackle is greeted with rousing roars of approval.

France have been organised in defence in the first half and creative in attack.

How often can you say you've seen a flanker gather a crossfield kick and step the winger for a try?!

  15. Postpublished at 31 mins

    France 24-0 Wales

Lleucu George gets away with one there.

That looked a very deliberate knock-on as France threatened with a quickly-taken penalty but the Wales centre only concedes a penalty without a card.

    Wow what an impact.

Sisilia Tupulotu crashes through the French defence.

That's exactly what Wales have lacked in this half.

To score like that straight from a set-piece is worrying for Wales.

    Melissande Llorens, con Jessy Tremouliere

The winger picks her line and simply gluides outside Lleucu George and around the last defender.

    Magnifique!
