England are waiting to discover whether they will be without captain Marlie Packer for their potential Grand Slam decider with France next Saturday.

The flanker, 33, had to be helped off with a leg injury during the first half of England's 48-0 win over Ireland.

Prop Hannah Botterman, 23, had already limped off with an injury and will also be assessed before their final Women's Six Nations game.

France will set up a showdown with England if they beat Wales.

The game at Twickenham is set to be played in front of a record crowd for a women's rugby match, with ticket sales already surpassing 50,000.

It's the sign of the professionalism now that the teams really have an opportunity to really analyse that game (against England) and take away so many positives.

Yes, the scoreline wasn't what we wanted it to be but in the first 30 minutes they hustled England, now the progression for them is they must turn that pressure into performances.

France coach David Ortiz said: "We can feel that the players are looking forward to playing again in a full stadium which we know well and in which we have an excellent record.

"Wales are going to give us a tough fight up front and we're going to have to be there for the full 80 minutes.

"It will be important to continue to play well and to keep our balance, in order to continue the evolution we have seen in these first three games."

Wales head coach Ioan Cunningham said:"France will be a major test for us, they are one of the best teams in the world and we always knew playing England and then playing France away was going to be a major challenge.

"But these are the tests we want, we are an ambitious team and we need to know where we are and we have made no secret that we have to build our strength in depth ahead of the next World Cup.

"We have reviewed the performance against England and we proved we can compete and proved we can cause the best in the world problems, we just have to do it for longer."

  9. Sioned Harries column: England loss a reality checkpublished at 15:08 British Summer Time 23 April 2023

    France v Wales (15:15 BST)

I think it's good that we've got France straight after England - it's two tough Test matches on the bounce and keeps you focused and energised.

For me, France is the most intimidating place to go to play. I would play England away any day over France away, it's just so hostile.

They're a passionate nation and the support is unreal. All you can hear is, "Allez Les Bleues, allez Les Bleues!"

You certainly know you're in the Test match when you play France away. That being said, I'm really looking forward to it and coming up against another top team.

Bonjour, prynhawn da, hello and welcome to the latest round of the Women's Six Nations with Wales taking on France in Grenoble.

What a stunning backdrop for a rugby match at Stade des Alpes.

Wales face another stern test as they travel to title-chasing France in the penultimate round of the Women's Six Nations.

After back-to-back wins over Ireland and Scotland, Wales were brought crashing back down to earth by England last time out.

Les Bleues have England in their sights after wining their opening three matches and victory here would set up a title decider against the defending champions.

More than 20,000 tickets have been sold at Stade des Alpes, with home fans preparing to bid a fond farewell to fly-half Jessy Tremouliere before her international retirement.

Let's have a look at the teams...
