Every praise to Wales, Nick Tompkins did well beating Semi Radrada and then giving the pass.
I thought there was a chance of a deliberate knock on as Gareth Davies would have been under the posts.
But a try for Wales anyway!

Watching Jac Morgan's cross field kick, he can do it all can't he.
Louis Rees-Zammit
That is just an incredible score. Wales skipper Jac Morgan pops up in midfield and with Fjij expecting a crash ball, the fully caped-up captain instead sends a beautiful cross-kick over to Louis Rees-Zammit, licking his lips, who gathers and scores in the corner. Dan Biggar adds the extras.

Liam Williams nudges a kick along the floor and Nick Tompkins' chase wins a lineout for Wales. The ball is fielded and Wales swoop right. Louis Rees-Zammit has space, beats one defender but then is crunched by the covering Ilaisa Droasese.

Wales co-captain Dewi Lake on S4C:
We know Fiji are a good team but we've scored some good tries and it's nice to be in the lead.
Fiji want to throw the ball around and we want to play with structure.
Outside of our own 22 we're playing with a good structure and look good but our exits are a bit sloppy and there's a lot of offloads when we just need to get the ball off the park.

It's getting really physical - not that it wasn't before mind - and a crunching Will Rowlands tackle dislodges the ball to hand Wales back possession.

Stupid play from Fiji second row Amenoni Nasilasila; he didn't need to do that.
Wales need all the points they can get.
You have to kick those!
Wales 18-14 Fiji
Straight off the kick-off Wales win a penalty as Semi Radradra drives a man off the ball at a ruck. it seems regulation for Dan Biggar but he just slides it across the face of the posts. Let-off for Fiji, disappointing for Wales.

There is a real necessary re-focus that has to happen for Wales to be able to kick on and from Fiji's point of view they have threatened, they are lethal anywhere 10 metres from the Welsh try line.

The game has been so exciting, we haven't had a game like this so far in the tournament, both sides running at each other.
Wales haven't done the simple things well in the first half.
Catching the restart and holding onto the ball from the line, they've both been poor.
Warren Gatland will be so angry Wales haven't done the little things, Fiji could easily be ahead.

Everyone is having a subtle look at who's sitting next to them!
Wales 18-14 Fiji
Former Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips on S4C:
Fiji are so powerful, Wales are tackling reasonably well but Fiji still have the skills to get the offloads away.
The Fijians are so talented the game comes naturally to them, Wales need to target the ball a bit more.

I don't know who I would call the favourite at the moment, Wales have put themselves under a lot of pressure.
The ball has been spilled an awful lot as the night has gotten more humid, the ball is like a bar of soap.
Wales will tighten up and play this game like a territory pressure wet weather game in the second half.

Dan Biggar lost his head at the end of the first half at his teammates for not kicking the ball out at the end of the half.
There was an opportunity to put Louis Rees-Zammit into space but there was an element of panic there from Wales, but sometimes you've got to be patient.
What a half of rugby, at times it's been astounding.
Wales have done well to score two tries but this Fiji team have looked dangerous, powerful and organised in attack.

It's very early to talk about a Welsh win because Fiji could blow this score out.

Wales only have two scrum-halves at this World Cup, twitchy moments as Gareth Davies heads down the tunnel.
Fiji look to close out the half with a score that would give them a lead at the break. They cough up the ball though with the Wales line in sight and that's the end of a frantic and hugely enjoyable first half.
Catch your breath, have a cuppa - or something stronger - and then it's back to the action.
