The Black Ferns are targeting the break down, they are such physical players, they are a team of athletes and every tackle they are driving the Welsh players back.

  2. Conversion missedpublished at 26 mins

    New Zealand 22-0 Wales

Once again, Renee Holmes doesn't make the best contact from the conversion as the ball sails wide.

  3. try

    Ruby Tui

It's a mess from Wales from their own lineout.

New Zealand pounce and have players queueing up on the right to cross over.

Amy du Plessis very unselfishly passes to Ruby Tui who notches his third try of the game.

  4. Postpublished at 25 mins

    New Zealand 17-0 Wales

Sylvia Brunt bursts forwards and kicks over the top of the Wales defence.

The ball bounces into touch a couple of metres from the Welsh tryline.

Wonderful play from the New Zealand centre there. The Black Ferns are oozing confidence.

You have to feel for Nel Metcalfe sitting down there on the sidelines.

It's her first international start having only made her senior debut last month.

She was only playing for Wales U20s three months ago - this yellow card will be a learning curve for the youngster.

She'll be desperate to get back on and make amends - especially as her dad and brother have made the 12,000 mile trip to be here in the crowd today.

    New Zealand 17-0 Wales

    It's a fine kick by Arihiana Marino-Tauhinu.

They go from defence to attack in the blink of an eye.

Wales right back under pressure on the edge of their own 22.

    New Zealand 17-0 Wales

Former Wales centre on BBC Radio Wales Extra

It was a walk in for Ruby Tui but it didn't need to be, Carys Williams-Morris hesitated, if they've got numbers out wide you have to get off the line and cut them down early, it's again maybe that lack of confidence in the Welsh defence.

You can't take away from New Zealand but it's critiquing what Wales could do better.

  8. Conversion missedpublished at 21 mins

    New Zealand 17-0 Wales

Renee Holmes looks to add the extras from a tight angle, although her effort just skims wide of the post.

But it's already looking ominous for Wales here.

  9. try

    Ruby Tui

The Black Ferns are now camped on the Welsh tryline.

They go through the backline, and Ruby Tui lies in wait on the right wing to cross over for her second try.

Try number three for New Zealand.

It's a fine pass by Amy du Plessis in the buildup there, by the way.

    New Zealand 12-0 Wales

    Alecs Donovan
Former Wales centre on BBC Radio Wales Extra

Wales are starting to run individually and getting isolated, being one player down New Zealand are going to target that break down.

It's going to be hard with Nel Metcalfe off, this is going to be an interesting game for Lleucu George to step up and start controlling the game a bit more.

  11. Postpublished at 19 mins

    New Zealand 12-0 Wales

Wales's penalty count is seriously harming them already.

    They've now conceded four.

New Zealand kick their latest penalty into touch to gain more territory, and they shove after gathering the lineout.

Alisha Butchers is penalised this time as the Black Ferns win yet another penalty and kick into touch again.

    New Zealand 12-0 Wales

    Alecs Donovan
Former Wales centre on BBC Radio Wales Extra

It's the skill and accuracy of New Zealand's passing, the timing of the pass from Ruby Tui is brilliant, it's perfectly executed from New Zealand.

Wales need to pull width in defence and trust the inside player.

  13. Conversion and yellow cardpublished at 16 mins

    New Zealand 12-0 Wales

Renee Holmes adds the extra two points as Nel Metcalfe is yellow carded for a rather naughty hair pull.

She'll face 10 minutes in the bin.

  14. try

Try - New Zealand 10-0 Walespublished at 15 mins

    Ruby Tui

    Uh oh...

The Black Ferns have found their rhythm now.

Ruby Tui catches Ruahei Demant's crossfield kick, beats two players and touches down.

  16. try

    Mererangi Paul

New Zealand go from right to left, and Ruby Tui feeds Mererangi Paul who has plenty of space to cross over the whitewash on the left flank.

  17. Postpublished at 12 mins

    New Zealand 0-0 Wales

Another penalty to New Zealand, this time won by Liana Mikaele-Tu'u who gets down low to win the ball.

Renee Holmes kicks to touch and the Black Ferns are in the Welsh 22.

  18. Postpublished at 11 mins

    So close!

It's a lovely crossfield kick towards Jasmine Joyce, but it's just about intercepted.

Joyce had space to run into there. Decent signs from Ioan Cunningham's side so far.

    Alecs Donovan
Former Wales centre on BBC Radio Wales Extra

You want to take the game to New Zealand you can't let them play at you, you have to control your own pace because New Zealand want to control the game.

Wales are keeping the ball alive really well, where it goes wrong is where the ruck speed slows down a little bit.

  20. Postpublished at 9 mins

    New Zealand 0-0 Wales

A blow for Wales as Maiakawanakaulani Roos wins the penalty after expertly getting over the ball.

New Zealand clear their lines after a promising attack from Wales.
