Keira Bevan does well to keep Wales on the front foot.

    New Zealand 0-0 Wales

The Black Ferns really have started on the front foot here.

Wales have a scrum just inside their own 22.

Going back to the Canada game and the defensive line from Wales, they only missed seven tackles which just meant they are in the wrong positions, I think New Zealand have really done their homework on that.

You don't want to give New Zealand any space they can execute on any opportunity they get.

  5. Postpublished at 3 mins

    New Zealand 0-0 Wales

New Zealand start a drive from their own lineout around 30 yards out from the Wales tryline, but Wales win the scrum.

The Black Ferns have the early possession from the Wales kick-off and immediately charge upfield.

Mererangi Paul looks to put Wales under pressure there, but Ioan Cunningham's side scramble back and get their hands on the ball.

Today marks a welcome return of international women's rugby to Dunedin.

Angels and Barbie Girl were topping the UK charts the last time they played here in 1997 - most of the squad weren't even born then!

It's very much a student populated town and I'm hearing it's exam season, but I'm expecting the books to be put down with the world champions in town.

The Black Ferns are hoping they kick-start what will be a memorable weekend with the men going for World Cup glory of their own on Sunday.

Wales second row Kate Williams grew up in New Zealand hence the distinctive twang and is looking forward to seeing a few of her former teammates out on the pitch.

One of the most memorable moments for Welsh fans at last year's Rugby World Cup was the way Wales set up to face the New Zealand haka.

They set up a diamond formation before advancing forward ahead of the quarter-final.

I wonder what they'll do today.

Wales have played New Zealand six times and lost six times.

Could today be lucky number seven?

Their first meeting in 1991 was the narrowest losing margin, when Wales lost 24-6 at Dairy Field, Llanharan.

Since then, the average winning margin has been 43.4 points.

Looking back to last week it was almost the defensive line, hesitation and miscommunication that cost Wales a lot, but the things that they had to work on is doable within a week.

The Black Ferns will be out for blood today, it's going to be a massive test for Wales but they are beatable.

"New Zealand are the world champions so we're under no illusion that it's going to be a very difficult game.

"They come with great experience, their on-field and off-field charisma is amazing - we learn a lot from them."

Prior to today's encounter, Donna Rose bravely spoke out about her struggles in life.

The prop was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder 12 years ago, and it's something that heavily impacted her career, in addition to her personal life.

"I like to be bubbly and I like to see people happy," Rose told BBC Sport Wales.

"But sometimes I don't want to be bubbly and the girls let me have a few seconds in the corner, they know that I'm good at coping with it. They know [to] give it five minutes and I'll be running around again."

And yet, it is an area that is rather familiar to Welsh rugby fans.

Wales were beaten 42-22 by Canada in their WXV1 opener a week ago.

There were plenty of positives for head coach Ioan Cunningham, not least the first-half display.

Wales were just 21-17 behind at half-time, although a strong second half performance from the Canadians ultimately did the job for Kevin Rouet's side.
