    Tommy Freeman

Tommy Freeman powers over for his second try of the night.

Glasgow defended the initial break from George Hendy really well, but eventually ran out of defenders.

Alex Mitchell is pulling all the strings out there.

The conversion is good, and suddenly Northampton lead by 17.

    Alex Newsome

Penalty to Clermont... but they kick down to the 5m line instead of going for the sticks. The maul goes down and they go wide almost immediately. Harry Paterson flies out of the line but he misses the tackle.

He has to make that hit, but Newsome can skip away and run it in from 20 yards out. Two in five minutes for Clermont.

    Another good kick from Belleau.

    Clermont 7-0 Edinburgh

Duhan van der Merwe's had a little run, and it's the first time he's had the ball in hand as we near the half-hour mark. Not ideal for Sean Everitt's side.

Edinburgh have been non-existent in attack so far.

That's an absolute shocker of a decision. Absolute disgrace.

If the guy had got up and carried on then the TMO never would've looked at it. You can't look at the outcome to make your decision, you need to look at the act itself.

Alex Waller is still receiving treatment after that collision with Scott Cummings, but is now up on his feet and heading for an HIA.

I would imagine his game is done.

  6. Sin-bin - Scott Cummings (Glasgow)published at 29 mins

    Glasgow 5-15 Northampton

I'm not sure what Scott Cummings could have done there.

He can't defy gravity, but Luc Ramos says it's reckless and the Scotland international is sent to the bin for ten minutes.

    George Moala

Clermont win the scrum penalty as Javan Sebastian's feet go from under him. This time though, the rolling maul doesn't gain many yards.

It's loose ball, but the hosts are making yards. They're on the 5m line but Edinburgh's hits have been ferocious.

Eventually, they go wide and George Moala scoops up and the Edinburgh defenders slip off his legs, with the Tongan international going over for the first score. Anthony Belleau nails the kick.

    Glasgow 5-15 Northampton

The officials are having a look at some potential foul play, as Scott Cummings landed on a Northampton player at a lineout.

  9. Postpublished at 27 mins

    Glasgow 5-15 Northampton

The lineout goes astray, and then tempers spill over, as both teams have a wee dust-up.

Referee Luc Ramos gives a penalty to Northampton after they are all separated.

    Glasgow 5-15 Northampton

Northampton are pinged for not releasing the ball carrier at the ruck, and Tom Jordan kicks the resulting penalty into the corner.

    Johnny Matthews will fancy this.

    Clermont 0-0 Edinburgh

    Chris Paterson
    Former Scotland international on Viaplay

Clermont got good return from their kicking early on. They put two high balls up and won them both back in the first two minutes.

Since them they've kept the ball in and and it's given Edinburgh the opportunity to turn the ball over - which they've done.

Maybe Sebastien Bezy and Anthony Belleau will change the tactics a little bit.

Real basic but really efficient - just beating your opposite number and going round the corner.

  13. try

Try Glasgow 5-15 NORTHAMPTONpublished at 21 mins

    Tommy Freeman

    It was coming.

Northampton keep it tight, go round the corner, before Alex Mitchell releases the backs.

Fin Smith delays, before popping up a lovely pass to Tommy Freeman, who barges his way over from close range.

The conversion attempt sails well wide.

    Peter Wright

In these conditions, Glasgow need to play a bit tighter.

Glasgow should play a couple plays closer to try and get some penetration. If you're not going to play [Sione] Tuipulotu at 12 then you miss out on some footwork.

  15. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Glasgow 5-10 Northampton

Fin Smith drops a well-judged kick into the Glasgow 22, and it's a fairly poor exit from the hosts.

The lineout only just goes to hand, and then Sean Kennedy slices his kick hardly any distance at all.

    Saints will come again...

  16. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Clermont 0-0 Edinburgh

Clermont have their first real go at the Edinburgh line and they're making light work of the visiting defence.

Eventually Bautista Delguy scampers to the left to try and find a hole and instead finds himself wrapped up.

Ewan Ashman then pops up with a turnover. Superb from the Edinburgh hooker.

  17. Penalty Glasgow 5-10 NORTHAMPTONpublished at 16 mins

    Fin Smith

Northampton's fly-half splits the posts after Glasgow concede a penalty at the breakdown.

It's all gone the visitors' way in the last ten minutes or so.

    Glasgow 5-7 Northampton

    Peter Wright
Former Scotland prop on BBC Radio Scotland

It all started back at the breakdown.

Freeman breaks through and Glasgow were exposed on the blind side. That's 3 or 4 times there now. Glasgow need to fix that.

  19. converted try

Converted try Glasgow 5-7 NORTHAMPTONpublished at 13 mins

    Courtney Lawes

    Saints hit back.

The break comes down their left again, and after George Hendy releases Courtney Lawes, there's no stopping the big man.

That's his first club try for five years.

Fin Smith adds the extras from out wide, and Northampton lead for the first time tonight.

  20. Postpublished at 12 mins

    Clermont 0-0 Edinburgh

Another superb chase and hit from Harry Paterson results in a knock on and Edinburgh ball just outside the Clermont 22m.

They'll try to strike from here.
