"This is a massive frame. To get this frame is huge for both players. If Ronnie loses the frame after missing the simple yellow, Mark will take some stopping.

"They are both making mistakes but that was really easy. They are both losing it mentally at the moment. They have missed more shots in the last five minutes than they have in the whole match."

What do you need to do when your opponent is on a roll?

Dennis Taylor, winner of the world title in 1985, says: "You have to forget what your opponent is doing. I wouldn't watch what my opponent was doing and just try to get myself mentally ready for what was required when I got my chance.

"I used to sit in my chair and just think about some of my great games and just think really positively. I think snooker is the toughest sport mentally.

"I play golf and I know how difficult it is, but when your opponent is knocking in balls, there is nothing you can do about it in snooker, while in golf you always have the chance to hit a good shot."

  18. Dennis discussespublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 5 May 2014

1985 world champion Dennis Taylor says: "I think that Ronnie needs to get a chance to spend some time at the table - Mark Selby is playing such tight and tough snooker.

"O'Sullivan has just spent some time with Steve Peters and this is the biggest test Ronnie has faced for a while, so it will be interesting to see how he copes mentally.

"If Ronnie wins this frame, he can change things right around, and it will give him real confidence. To restore his self-belief he needs this one.

"If Mark was to lose this frame he would still be in a strong position, so it is much important for Ronnie to win this frame."

    Ken Doherty
Former world champion on BBC Radio 5 live

"These are worrying times for Ronnie O'Sullivan. But it will take a lot of effort to keep Ronnie at bay."
