    Frame 10: O'Sullivan 7-2 Wilson

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

Wow. That's incredible he didn't even look at the blue when he is 7-2 up. That tells you something about how confident Ronnie is of potting mid-distance balls.

That was an amazing shot choice.

    Frame 10: O'Sullivan 7-2 Wilson

Ronnie O'Sullivan gets in but then refuses a mid-distance blue on nine.

Darren Lightbody: This might not go to the final session if Wilson doesn't get his head together quickly.

Philip: I don’t think Kyren’s frame was stolen. He was just poor and Ronnie took advantage.

Pami Kaur: Love watching Ronnie O’Sullivan play. So amazing and the most naturally talented player ever.

    Frame 10: O'Sullivan 7-2 Wilson

This has just dropped off a tad. Both players have had decent chances to get going in this frame.

Looks like the player who makes the least mistakes will end up winning it.

    Frame 10: O'Sullivan 7-2 Wilson

In case you're wondering, the prize money pot for this tournament stands at a shade under £2.4m with the winner pocketing £500,000.

A far cry from when it all began at the very first World Championship in 1927.

Joe Davis' 20-11 win over Tom Dennis at Camkin's Hall in Birmingham saw him earn a first prize of £6 10s (the 's' stands for shilling which was worth 12.5 pence).

What a steal from Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Kyren Wilson will be very disappointed to lose that frame.

Ed Ryder: Wondering why the spectators aren't wearing face masks? We had to in the cinema the other day.

The code of conduct for fans instructs them they had to wear a mask while walking around the Crucible, but could remove it while watching the action Ed.

    Frame nine: O'Sullivan 6-2 Wilson

But he doesn't get it. And Ronnie slides a red into the middle bag. Pick that one out.

Much higher standard than earlier already.

    Frame nine: O'Sullivan 6-2 Wilson

That wiped its feet but Kyren Wilson knocks in a lovely plant to the bottom left.

He's up to 46. One good shot to break up the remaining reds and this frame is in the bag.

And he doesn't get it as the white nestles up to a couple of reds leaving him nothing to play for. A good safety needed now.

A pretty subdued start until Ronnie O'Sullivan flukes a red into the top right corner while playing a safety.

Nothing doing colour wise though and Kyren Wilson is back in business after his opponent misses a cut into the right middle. How's his cue-ball control?

This is decent a chance to get some points on the board.

    O'Sullivan 6-2 Wilson

It's time. Here come the players. Having a crowd really just elevates this. Listen to that roar.

Both players are out and walked past the world championship trophy as they headed to their seats.

    Here we go.

    O’Sullivan 6-2 Wilson

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Two

Kyren Wilson has got to steady the ship first and then if he gets lucky he can win the session.

I expect everything to be raised a bit tonight from both. The great Ronnie O'Sullivan didn't turn up this afternoon so the worry for Wilson is that the great Ronnie O'Sullivan turns up tonight.

    O'Sullivan 6-2 Wilson

Ronnie O'Sullivan, received a congratulatory message from Novak Djokovic after reaching the final but then reportedly, external twisted his ankle out running this morning, meaning he had it in an ice bucket before playing.

Not sure I spotted any mobility issues earlier mind.

  15. Bedtime reading for snooker players?published at 19:34 British Summer Time 15 August 2020

    O'Sullivan 6-2 Wilson

Ronnie O'Sullivan talked up his problematic cue action after defeating both Mark Williams and Mark Selby.

And he had one or two issues earlier particularly on mid and long range pots, leading him to practice his cueing on several occasions.

Though I'm not sure everyone is quite as convinced by his suggestion he is really struggling. Australia's 2010 champion Neil Robertson looks like he's found the perfect solution, ahem.

Darren: Wilson needs to win this second session or keep it close because if Ronnie pulls away it's over.
