    Frame 20: O'Sullivan 11-8 Wilson

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC Two

This is where Ronnie O'Sullivan is at his imperious best.

The frame is of paramount important first but he had got three or four reds in the open.

It wasn't an ideal pack though.

    Frame 20: O'Sullivan 11-8 Wilson

Six reds. Six blacks. He can't, can he?

No he has to settle for a break of 48 after an attempt to split the reds goes awry. Stand down.

    Frame 20: O'Sullivan 11-8 Wilson

The problems of having an audience. Kyren Wilson gets down over a long red but then gets up, something in the background was distracting him.

This is a tough one. He's close but no cigar.

And he's left a rejuvenated Ronnie O'Sullivan in the balls.

  4. 'Kyren has to take those chances'published at 14:14 British Summer Time 16 August 2020

    Frame 20: O'Sullivan 11-8 Wilson

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

I think Kyren has to take those chances if he's going to win this final. You won't get many chances to pinch frames off Ronnie O'Sullivan.

Winning frames when you get them yourself is important, but pinching those frames makes a difference.

  5. 'The tempo of the match has moved up a gear'published at 14:13 British Summer Time 16 August 2020

    Frame 20: O'Sullivan 11-8 Wilson

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Two

    It was a judgement shot.

Kyren will have been distraught to see the pink hit the far jaw but he knew he had missed it as soon as he played the shot.

It does seem like the tempo of the match has moved up a gear. He is not out of it yet but he has to get back on level terms.

  6. O'Sullivan pulls three clearpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 16 August 2020

    Frame 19: O'Sullivan 11-8 Wilson

Hello. This frame looked done and dusted a few minutes back but Ronnie O'Sullivan keeps losing position.

There's life in this one yet, particularly after Kyren Wilson blasts another long red in.

Is a counter clearance on here? Well it was until a pink to the middle goes begging. Ronnie rattles through the remaining balls. Kyren will be kicking himself.

Matt Andrews: "Today I'm an old romantic. I think an awful lot of Kyren Wilson as a player but I'd love to see Ronnie O'Sullivan get closer to where I believe he should be. But nobody hands achievements to you, you have to work hard for them."

    Frame 19: O'Sullivan 10-8 Wilson

What a fortunate starter for Ronnie O'Sullivan - an attempted safety on a red flicks off the blue and trickles into the middle bag.

Perfect on the black as well.

A long red a few shots further on will help settle any butterflies. He was missing those by a mile last night.

He gets up to 53 before playing safe but gets another chance straight away when an attempted cross double just stops short of the unintended right middle.

Both players look more at it, as is the table as well.

It's going to be key for Kyren to create his own chances if he is going to win this match. He has to be on point with his long potting.

Ross Jeffries: "That was a cracking opening pot by Kyren. It will be interesing to see what type of Ronnie we get this afternoon, after he was clearly uncomfortable in last evening's session."

Mistyhaych145m: "That was an excellent pot. I think Kyren might have been on the practice table."

  12. Wilson reduces gap to two framespublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 16 August 2020

    Frame 18: O'Sullivan 10-7 Wilson

Some superb play from Kyren Wilson who immediately registers a break of 73.

Ronnie needs a couple of snookers but Wilson has got this one in the bag and rattles in another red before his opponent concedes.

    Statement. Of. Intent.

    Frame 18: O'Sullivan 10-7 Wilson

Kyren Wilson breaks off. You can feel the tension here as Ronnie O'Sullivan plays an obligatory safety with the next shot.

But that's a snorter from Wilson who rockets a long red into the bottom bin.

That gets a rousing round of applause and deservedly so. He looks so focused today.

Kyren Wilson has been wearing a silver 'B' at the Crucible as a tribute to his manager Brandon Parker, who died last month,

Parker was a popular figure in the game, who had also managed the 2005 world champion Shaun Murphy and the late three-time Masters winner Paul Hunter.

Part of Saturday's struggles for both players has been attributed to the table.

Will be interesting to see how it plays today.

Hopefully we see a better standard today, there were a lot of scrappy frames and the table did not help.

I just want to see a good match and the best players playing their best form.

This is what the players are playing for today (plus a £500k cheque).

I must admit I've always liked the World Championship trophy.

It looks classy and is pretty easy to hold. And importantly, whoever wins usually doesn't have to worry about part of it falling off when they are dancing around with joy.

Even little things like it weighing 46 ½ troy ounces (a unit of measure dating back to the Middles Ages) adds to its appeal.

First bought for £19 by Joe Davis in 1926 - according to a handy online calculator - it would be worth about £1,170.00 in today's money, though I'd imagine the players value it much higher than that.
