We have not got enough tinned food and supplies of fresh water to survive a John Isner five-setter, so we are going to call a halt to this live text right here.

However you can keep across all the scores from Roland Garros, minus the inane wittering, on the BBC Sport live scores page.

We will be back tomorrow when Andy Murray takes on the difficult-to-spell and difficult-to-play Philipp Kohlschreiber.

    Bye for now.

Death, taxes and John Isner being involved in a tie-break. Good to have things you can rely on in this world.

In the third set, the cookie has crumbled Tommy Robredo's way though.

Two and a half hours on the clock.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has clinched the opening set against Jerzy Janowicz, but is a break behind in the second. That one has legs..

While Philippe Chatrier was turned into a crime scene by Maria Sharapova, Garbine Muguruza has done the business in less gory fashion on Court Seven.

She wraps up a 6-2 6-4 win over Anna Schmiedlova.

"The photographers are massing and the cameras whirring in the media seats as Sharapova closes in on victory. Ormaechea puts a brave face on suffering the indignity of a 'double bagel', laughing when her attempt at a drop volley barely reaches the net, but Sharapova is all business. She wraps up a 6-0 6-0 win, or 53 points to 17, and gives her traditional wave to all four sides of the stadium. 'My next opponent, Sam Stosur, has had a lot of success on clay courts and I look forward to it,' she then tells Cedric Pioline. That match should be a touch more hard-fought."

Maria Sharapova looked a little sheepish as she advanced to the net to meet Paula Ormaechea at the end of the match.

Well she might. It took her just 51 minutes to dispatch the Argentine and she won 54 of the 71 points played. And four of Ormaechea's points came via Sharapova's double faults.

    Very charitable.

A double bagel served up quicker than the time it takes to boil your accompanying egg.

Ruthless from Maria Sharapova who will play Australian Sam Stosur in the next round. That will be a more difficult one for the Russian to digest you would imagine.

Break, hold, break, hold, break hold. Repeat until the umpire calls for mercy.

Marai Sharapova is giving Paula Ormaechea the mother of all workings-over out on Philippe Chatrier.

The people watching on are more rubber-neckers than spectators now.

'On serve' news: we are still awaiting someone to break away from their opponent in the first set of Tsonga-Janowicz and the third set of Isner-Robredo.

Jo-Wilfried is 5-4 up but staring down the barrel of Jerzy's bazooka-like service action.

John Isner is 7-6 (15-13) 7-6 (7-3) 4-4 up on Robredo out on Court One.

Roberto Bautista Agut, so good they named him three times, comes out on top in his tie-break with Tomas Berdych. He trails 6-1 6-2 6-7 (4-7) but might make the sixth seed sweat if he can nudge ahead early in the fourth.

Maria Sharapova has got places to be. And Court Philippe Chatrier is not one of them.

The seventh seed breaks again. The only break that Paula Ormachea is close to is an emotional one.

Tomas Berdych could be close to the finishline. The Czech is currently comparing serve sizes with Roberto Bautista Agut over a third-set tie-break.

"A bit warmer, less wind and an opponent who doesn't appear to have the weapon to hurt her... this could be just what Sharapova needs to warm up for what would be a big match against Sam Stosur in the next round. The Russian is striking the ball better than in her first two matches and 6-0, 16 winners to one, in half an hour, illustrates her dominance."

  15. Sharapova wins the first setpublished at 16:35 British Summer Time 30 May 2014

Paula Ormaechea managed to see off at least one of the set points, but eventually she succumbs as the first set slips south in half an hour dead.

Maria Sharapova won 30 of the 44 points, including all nine of Ormaechea's second serves.

    Sixteen winners to one.

That all adds up to dominance.

The force is with Jo Wilfried Tsonga at the moment. A quick soft-shoe shuffle at the net, buys him the space to crack away an overhead to cling onto his serve as he comes under a spot of pressure.

He leads Jerzy Janowicz 3-2 in the first, all on serve.

Over on Court Seven, Garbine Muguruza is three service holds away from the fourth round. She is 6-2 3-2 up on Anna Scmiedlova with a break in the second.

The Spaniard will play either Pauline Parmentier or Mona Barthel - both unseeded - for a place in the last eight presuming she sees this one out.

The top half of that draw really is looking open.

You wouldn't want to be in a duel with John Isner. When it comes to a shoot-out, the American has the fastest service arm in the West.

The tenth seed has just walloped his way to a second successive tie-break success and leads, deep breath, 7-6 (15-13) 7-6 (7-3).
