Over on Court One, Carla Suarez Navarro is not being put to too much trouble by American young gun Taylor Townsend.

    The Spaniard leads 6-2 2-2.

Even if she goes out here it has been an impressive campaign from Townsend. Her win over France's Alize Cornet in the second round prompted Andy Murray to tweet, "How good is Taylor Townsend! #talent.''

She answered that question herself in her post second-round press conference.

"Well, I don't want to sound conceited and everything. But, I mean, I'm pretty darn good, I guess," she said.

    Fair enough.

Dmitry Tursunov with 15-30 on the Roger Federer serve. Is this is his big chance to wrestle the match back into the balance? If it is, it quickly goes down the swanny.

There is a bit of frame in the forehand that loops long over the baseline from the Russian and then Federer defends stoutly to win the final point.

Mirka is looking on. She is wearing celebrity standard-issue big shades so I would be lying if I said there was a hint of concern in her eyes. But she is definitely taking a close interest.

I'm not sure if Roger Federer would be up for partaking of either of the first two with him, but Tursunov is doing a decent job of getting right up in the world number four's grill.

Striking the ball solidly from behind the baseline, he is giving Federer the hurry-up, denying him the chance to stroke the ball into the corners.

The second set is on serve with Tursunov serving at 3-2 down.

"Maybe it's the heat. After a chilly start to the tournament, the temperature has soared to a tropical 21C today and the big names clearly can't cope. Following third seed Radwanska's earlier defeat, a now familiar murmur begins to grow around the media area as attention switches to Court Suzanne Lenglen. Maybe Djokovic forgot his sunblock but he looks out of sorts so far, slipping a break down to Cilic early on. Although he's back on track now, one Cilic winner that whistles past him sees the Serb scream furiously at the sky."
