It's like the players themselves are keen to flick through the pre-amble and get to the who-wunit part of the set. Roger Federer rattles through a service game to love.

    Court Two

"You'd find bigger screens in a footballer's living room but the seats on Court two are filling fast. As Djokovic levels the match, one man unfurls a Serbia flag and roars his delight. The rest clap, but once again you sense that most are firmly hoping for a Federer fairytale."

Novak Djokovic's serve has been pretty much bullet-proof so far and only the smallest dint is sustained there as he holds to 15.

Roger Federer coasts through a service game to love and the BBC cameras turn to take in the Royal Box at the changeover.

I fear Victoria Beckham has under-clubbed on the clothing. She is accessorising her strappy dress with some chattering teeth.

Hanreal:, external Federer has to win this next set or he is toast. Novak serving surprisingly has been phenomenal.

Jack Blackburn:, external That is magnificent from Djokovic. Trouble for the Fed. 1hr 34mins in and he hasn't threatened the Djokovic serve at all.

Default Girl:, external I wonder if Federer has two different cardigans in his bag, one with an eight on it, depending on the outcome.

Novak Djokovic is starting to run the legs off Roger Federer with his blistering forehand and sliced backhands. The Swiss is almost digging a trench at the back of the court with the amount of side-to-side shuttling he is being asked to do. Federer comes forward to try and change it up at 40-15 down and gets rolled by a sublime backhand pass for his efforts.

Roger Federer gets busy around the net, clumping away the overhead for 40-0.

You don't get away that easily Rog.

Novak Djokovic applies some pressure, clipping away a winner down the line for a look at 40-30. The top seed has left himself too big a gap to bridge though.

"It was tremendous by Djokovic to come back from a set down to level things up. I thought he looked a bit down early on but will be happier after that. We have gone from a marathon to a sprint and there can be no let-up from either player. Whoever can keep their levels up will win the match."

Both players head behind the scenes for a toilet break. I wonder if they used the same room, making small-talk before striding back out to resume hostilities?

"I still have the feeling for Federer. Even in that last point, you felt he could turn it around and win that set. The break was a loose game from him, Roger let it happen. It was the right moment for Djokovic to break."

Roger Federer gives himself a congratulatory grunt as he lures Novak Djokovic into the net for 15-15.

A little clench of the fist from the Swiss as Djokovic sweeps a double-handed backhand wide for 30-30.

And suddenly it isn't just the man himself who is getting animated as Djokovic flails long to hand over a break point at 30-40. The crowd rumble and grumble with expectation.

Djokovic snaps back to resume normal service though, whipping away a forehand before hammering the final nail in the second-set coffin with a thumping overhead.

KJK:, external Fantastic game so far. My heart says Federer but Djokovic has the most incredible mental strength of anyone in the men's game.

Eoin JP Morgan:, external If Federer didn't play tennis, he would make the most wonderful ski instructor. Nice chap to share a beer with on the slopes.

Austin Bobmanuel:, external The quality from both players is high up there. I want five sets.

Nothing faulty with the Roger Federer serve. He holds to love, but that will be a footnote to the set unless he can break next.

Djokovic to serve for the second.

Novak Djokovic barely flinches a muscle as a decisive Roger Federer ace blurs past out wide and tests the reflexes of a spectator in the front row.

The Centre Court patron nearly head-butted his companion in his understandable eagerness to get his face out of the line of fire.
