Serena Williams, still feeling the effects of the illness, external that forced her to pull out of her women's doubles match with sister Venus on Tuesday, has tweeted this picture of her resting up. Hopefully, she's awake now and enjoying this quarter-final.

Little sniff here for Murray - 0-30 on the Dimi serve the first time he's had his nose in front in a Dimitrov service game since the very first exchange of the match. Big serve, big serve, 30-30. Wallop. Murray tugging a forehand into the tramlines, slim chances slipping away. Ooh, is that long from Grigor? Yup, our first deuce on the Bulgarian serve. A few nerves from the 23-year-old? Quite possibly - he'll push that one long again, and off a 121 mph second serve Murray will attack again - Dimi scampering, out of position, long! Break back for the Briton, and all manner of fistpumps and screams at his responsive support.

Chris Ward:, external Murray's first serve has been poor for a long time now, eventually someone was going to take him to the cleaners.

Jamie Matthews:, external Andy has been a professional 10 years pretty much, he should've sorted his serve out by now, far too inconsistent.

Harry Purnell:, external Murray is playing like he did when he first came onto the scene and getting worked up over errors.

"The big question has to be if Andy Murray can weather this storm, can Dimitrov keep up this kind of tennis for the whole match? So far he has not put a foot wrong, he has played perfect tennis but can he really keep this level up for potentially five sets?"

  5. Postpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

An 18th unforced error from Murray, another mis-timed forehand, and suddenly he's at 15-30 and floundering. Second serve, Dimi with a trademark dashing backhand cross-court, but he aims for the highest part of the net with his follow-up and hits the tape. Murray driven back again, forehand wide, break point. Klaxons sound. Here we go - Murray working hard, into the net, chance here - yes, volley popped away. No no, that's an ugly backhand, feet nowhere, hands reaching, the ball inevitably drifting wide. Break point again - and a 93 mph first serve, not so much safety first and panic now. Dimi in control, Murray slicing a backhand again... long! Break gone, klaxons klaxons klaxons...

Laura Lambert:, external Confident Murray will find a way to do this, but doesn't want to let Dimitrov gather momentum. A break here would be just great.

Richard Morris:, external It would be good if Murray started to go for a few winners rather than just keeping ball in play and hoping opponent makes a mistake!

Marc Semmens:, external My forehand is better than Murray's ATM and I don't even play tennis, going out quick if he can't change it round second set.

"There's no doubt that Andy is one of the best returners in the game, he is usually very good at getting the ball back into play. He needs to get one of the first points in the game to put Dimitrov under some pressure. Whether he can do that by standing further in or further wide to change Dimitrov's view but he needs to do something fast."

  9. Postpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

The concern for Murray is that, while his opponent is playing very solid power tennis, he's not conjuring up miracles. He doesn't have to - Murray is gifting him the advantage with too many errors. And they're often coming on the forehand side - a shot that was all rhythm and timing in the first week is now is all snatchy and bumps.

  10. Postpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

    Peter Fleming
Seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC TV

"Boris Becker will be purring at Djokovic's performance in that first set. The stats tell us that it was a drubbing for Cilic and he will need to improve immediately. It is every player's worst nightmare coming up against the top seed and a guy who he has never beaten before."

  11. GAME AND FIRST SETpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

    Stephan Shemilt
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

"Pipe and slippers stuff for Novak Djokovic, with Marin Cilic providing the brew and biscuits. With the Croat finding the net when it was easier to get the ball over and following that with a double fault, the number one seed has the chance to serve for the set. The Serb applauds a forehand as if to say 'good boy', but from then on it's all business. Djokovic is one up."

Better at last from Murray, creaming a forehand down the line as Dimitrov thunders to the net a little late. The problem? Murray has won only three points on Dimitrov's first serve. He's barely made a dent.

  14. Postpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

The holds are hard, the Dimitrov serve games are impenetrable. The Bulgarian races through his without shipping a point, and absolutely no-one around Centre can make any assumptions about a comeback while this lasts.

"In the next Dimitrov service game Murray has to make something happen. He has got to look to dictate from the baseline, get up to the net and dominate. So far he has been waiting for Dimitrov to make mistakes but he is playing too well."

  16. Postpublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

Agh - slow death of a double-fault from Murray, and his serve is all too vulnerable this afternoon. Murray vulnerable too to the backhand down the line, and another forehand wide leaves him teetering at deuce. Better serve, advantage Murray: lovely flicking forehand racing in to the net to leave Dimitrov flat-footed.

  17. Get involvedpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

Sarah Emery:, external So not the best start for Murray - we could be in for a long match.

Peter Vaz:, external Andy looks like he's half asleep still... that set passed him by completely.

NathB:, external Not panicking. He went to five with Verdasco last year. Going to drop a set sooner or later.

  19. Murray v Dimitrovpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC TV

"Murray has got to step up a level here, because there has only been player in it so far - Grigor Dimitrov. The advantage for Murray is that this is the best of five sets."

  20. Postpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

A matching pair of feeble forehands from Murray, one mis-hit loopily just over the net, the next clattered long. He'll advance to win a point with a smart backhand volley, but then Dimi will do the same to seal the game.
