Simona Halep and Sabine Lisicki are clocking warm-up shots on Centre Court.

Angelique Kerber and Eugenie Bouchard are basking in the Court One sun.

Sophie:, external Dimitrov, purely because I can see Federer getting past him in the semi-finals and I'm desperate for Roger to win one more Wimbledon.

Mark Witchell:, external Murray in 5. Dimitrov has not got the experience in Grand Slam play. If anything like their Acapulco semi-final, it should be thrilling!

Perhaps not everyone is a fan of Grigor Dimitrov.

Serena Williams caused controversy last summer when she told Rolling Stone, external that if an anonymous player, presumed to be Dimitrov's girlfriend Maria Sharapova, wanted to be with a "guy with a black heart" she should "go for it".

Dimitrov was romantically linked with Williams before starting his relationship with Sharapova.

British number two and BBC pundit Laura Robson won junior Wimbledon in 2008 - the same year that Dimitrov won the boy's title. They were also coached together as youngsters, first in Florida and then at Patrick Mouratoglou's academy outside Paris.

"Grigor was notorious for bringing these huge, 2,000-piece jigsaws puzzles," Robson told the Daily Telegraph, external of their time in France.

"I recall that there was one in particular, of a lion enclosure at a zoo, which we never managed to finish - it was impossible."

Grigor Dimitrov is, by most accounts, a thoroughly nice chap.

In his BBC Sport column, Andy Murray spoke of the "friendly rivalry" between the two training camps. And in January, Dimitorv tweeted a picture of the two players sharing an ice bath.

Nick Kyrgios' reaction to yesterday's win over Rafael Nadal in his post-match interview pretty sanguine.

    On Twitter, he went sub-zero.

  11. Court Onepublished at 11:15 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

This is how we are rolling on Court One. Like Centre Court it is a midday start today.

Canadian 20-year-old Eugenie Bouchard is aiming to make it to her third Grand Slam semi-final in a row. German ninth seed Angelique Kerber, who made the last four in 2012, stands in her way.

Then top seed Novak Djokovic will take on Croat Marin Cilic, who has been getting Wimbledon tips from compatriot, coach and former champion Goran Ivanisevic.

Before finally the talk of Wimble-town Nick Kyrgios, the world number 144 who humbled Rafael Nadal on Centre yesterday, takes on Canadian wham-bam merchant Milos Raonic.

    Line judges take cover.

  12. Centre Courtpublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

Last on the main stage is the quarter-final between seven-time champion and Swiss number two Roger Federer and Australian Open champion and Swiss number one Stanislas Wawrinka.

No "battling" or "going to war" in that one, it will be decided by diplomacy and discussion.

Before Andy Murray and Grigor Dimitrov take up arms on Centre Court we have a riddle of a women's quarter-final as Simona Halep takes on Sabine Lisicki.

French Open runner-up Halep has risen up the ranking to third in the world on the back of a run of seven titles in 18 months. Solid ball-striking, crafty angles, relentless percentages and dead-eyed accuracy are her hallmarks.

Lisicki has plenty of SW19 history. Runner-up last year, she also reached the last four in 2011 and the last eight in 2009 and 2012. The only muscles that she works harder than her groundstroke-walloping biceps are the ones that keep a broad grin plastered across her face for most of the match. A crowd darling.

By contrast, when Andy Murray was 23, he had been to two Australian Open finals, the last four of Wimbledon and beaten Roger Federer in Masters finals in Shanghai and Toronto.

So a simple question to kick off your day, Murray or Dimitrov? And why?

The list of things Dimitrov has not done is still quite telling however.

He is yet to record back-to-back wins over seeded players at a Grand Slam.

He has not beaten a top-10 player at a Grand Slam in five attempts.

He has never been to the semi-finals of a Grand Slam.

Small touches perhaps but they, along with a whole lot of hard graft on the practice courts, seem to have worked.

After winning Queen's in the build-up to Wimbledon, Dimitrov is up to 13th in the world and into the last eight of a Grand Slam for the second time this year.

You see the pink wrist band that Grigor Dimitrov is wearing in the picture below?

Those sort of sartorial flourishes have been outlawed by coach Roger Rasheed.

''I said to Grigor, 'Listen mate, first things first, you will never wear pink with me, ever'," is how former Aussie Rules footballer Rasheed tells it., external

Rasheed also requested that the ATP remove any reference to Dimitrov's "Baby Fed" nickname in their online profile.
