Every point on Murray's serve a toe-to-toe slugfest. The crowd go ripe bananas for one backhand overhead winner, and then suddenly remind themselves that it's only for 30-15 on the Murray serve. Long haul back from here.

Matt McGladrigan:, external Dimitrov really deserves the lead - just so much more positive than Murray. No length or aggression to Andy's groundstrokes.

Shohidur Rahman:, external The difference is Dimitrov isn't afraid to go for his shots but Murray seems like he is. The serve is an obvious example.

Aidan Williams:, external Dimitrov has tightened up his game so so much recently. No longer Baby Fed, now seems just as good as Fed.

Well, we've been here before, haven't we? At this exact stage a year ago Murray found himself two sets down to Fernando Verdasco before dragging himself back from the abyss. But with respect to Ferdie, Dimitrov on the charge is an entirely different proposition. Cantering hold, all the pressure on the defending champ.

    Stephan Shemilt
BBC Sport on Henman Hill at Wimbledon

"The walkways around the outside courts, normally a sedate scrum of Pimms and strawberries, are empty. Those without tickets for Centre are crammed on the Hill, where finding a space is a sport in itself. A spare blade of grass on the slope? No chance. At the back, people peer through gaps in the hedgerow and crouch on walls, hoping not to be moved on by security. Lots of 'excuse me, you're in my way'. My advice? Walk slowly up and down the steps, slow enough to watch but not so slowly you'll get a telling off."

  6. GAME AND SECOND SETpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

    Peter Fleming
Seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC TV

"Djokovic went a bit flat at the start of the second set but he seemed to get back towards the end of the set but it wasn't enough. Cilic still isn't serving at a high percentage but because he was as successful behind the second serve it didn't really matter."

    Mike Henson
BBC Sport on Court One at Wimbledon

"Court One has some noisy neighbours today. Wimbledon's second stage is situated just in front of Murray Mount and the groans and cheers for those watching Andy Murray and Grigor Dimitrov's tie-break regularly leak across mid-rally. You could probably have worked out the score if you kept count."

  8. GAME AND SECOND SETpublished at 14:55 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

Gaagh - Murray in off a decent approach, but Dimi will rip a backhand past him like a furry yellow missile. In to the net again, peachy touch, two set points. Murray pushed deep, Dimi looming at the net, Murray... nets! Dimitrov leads by two sets, and if you weren't panicking before, it may now be time to run around screaming about the sky falling in.

  9. Postpublished at 14:52 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

Short forehand from Murray, and Dimitrov will take control of the point from there. Sloppy. Thundering ace, 3-4. Murray in for an overhead, 4-4. Nerves all right?

Dimitrov chases chases chases - you can see all that work his coach Roger Rasheed has put in there, but Murray hangs in until an eventual error. Big serve, 3-3.

  11. Postpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

Error apiece from our two combatants off their first serves, 1-1. Chance here for Murray, but another unforced error, this time off the backhand - 1-2.

Jack Blackburn:, external Murray's raised his game finally, maybe just as Dimitrov has relented slightly. Crucial time. Needs to play like a Champion.

Oliver Dixon:, external Dimitrov seems in control always, even when it's not his service game. Murray seriously needs to step it up.

  13. Postpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

No denting that serve, not in that game, and after 54 minutes of that set we're into a tie-break. Hold on to your skirts.

    Mike Henson
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

A little clench of the fist from Marin Cilic as he finally gets a hold of something in the match with a break for a crucial lead in the second set.

"Novak Djokovic's game, pretty impeccable in the opener, has come off the boil under the broiling early afternoon sun.

"There are some patches of empty green seats in Court One, but it is not too far shy of capacity.

"A few spectators are keeping abreast of Andy Murray's travails via a earphone or smartphone. There is a rumble of concern from the rest when the score is relayed over the screen at the change of ends."

  16. Postpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

Backhand into the net from Murray, and then a pasty of a second serve that Dimitrov marmalises back cross-court. Two break points, one saved with a better first serve down the middle and follow-up forehand drive volley. Another first serve in, another one saved - Dimitrov into the net. Acer! Is the serve finally starting to click? His fastest of the match at 130 mph. Into the net, away with the volley, another crisis averted. For now.

    Peter Fleming
Seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC TV

"Djokovic has looked solid up until now so that service game came out of the blue but Cilic has to take his chances when he can."

Now then. Double-fault - massive double-fault - from Dimitrov for 30-30. Murray with half a chance here - second-guessing a smash, but he can't tame his own reply. Big serve, Murray long and long again - nothing for free in this match, nothing at all.

  19. Murray v Dimitrovpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

    Jimmy Connors
Two-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

"Dimitrov has nothing to lose here and he is playing that kind of tennis. His confidence will be nothing but growing. He will see the body language of Murray and why not just jump on him, and get this over as soon as possible. "

  20. Postpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 2 July 2014

Groans from all around and a self-administered slap to the face from Murray as he biffs a forehand onto the tape. 30-30, a sense of a tipping point, and into the best rally of the match - ripping top-spin backhands from Dimitrov, Murray slicing, on and on it goes, neither daring to blink - evil low slice from Murray, and on the 31st stroke, Dimi will net. Biggest reaction of the day from the panicking crowd, topped a moment later when that rarest of things today, a Murray ace, noses him in front.
