    *Murray 6-4 6-2 4-6 2-1 Wawrinka

A huge cry of "come on" from Wawrinka as he takes the advantage.

The defending champion pins Murray to the back wall and finishes off his service game with a belting winner from close to the net.

    *Murray 6-4 6-2 4-6 2-0 Wawrinka

Swiss Stan Wawrinka is very much the golden boy in the crowd's eyes. He nips a little drop shot over the net to huge applause.

But they're soon silenced, stunned, by a quite remarkable Murray drop shot with so much back spin it just stopped dead when it landed.

Break point Murray. But he can only place a forehand beyond the chalk. Deuce.

The Briton is back ahead again on the advantage, but again he hits just wide. Back to deuce.

    Murray 6-4 6-2 4-6 2-0 Wawrinka*

Andy Murray comes rushing forward, completes a high volley and Wawrinka is unable to clear the net. It's 30-0.

Murray has a word with himself as he rushes the next point and gifts the winner to the Swiss.

Boos and cat calls then ring out around the court as Wawrinka's return is called out by the umpire. 40-15.

A rally ensues, and both players are on the defence. It's Murray who wins out as Wawrinka steams a shot into the net.

"Murray didn't do an awful lot in that game. There was one decent rally. Wawrinka just hit unforced errors. As soon as Andy sees something remotely short he pulls the trigger and hits the ball hard."

    *Murray 6-4 6-2 4-6 1-0 Wawrinka

What a response from Murray in the opening of the fourth set.

He performs daylight robbery on a reinvigorated Wawrinka to earn a triple break point.

The first opportunity to break goes awry for the Briton, as does the second.

Can he make the last one count? YES.

Wawrinka overcooks a forehand past the baseline and Murray goes 1-0 up.

The keyboard has been handed back to me, Caroline, for the fourth set.

Now, just remember Murray started to wobble *before* I took over. I am shouldering no blame...

    Murray 6-4 6-2 4-6 Wawrinka*

An inside-out forehand has too much slice on it from Murray and it's break point. The crowd loves it, by the way.

And there it is, Murray can't convert an overhead volley and then puts into the net.

Stan has a set and out of nowhere he's back in it.

Meanwhile, a change in the commentary seat as Caroline Chapman returns to take you through the fourth set.

"Allez Stan," is the cry from the crowd. They want more tennis.

Murray is scuppered by a ball that flips up off the baseline and Wawrinka finishes it off.

Stan comes in for a backhand slice but it's misjudged and long. Say it quietly though, the Swiss is looking sharper.

Another just long from Wawrinka and Murray lets out a cry of joy as he goes 30-15. Stan is admonishing himself as he messes up a backhand. Murray ploughs one into the net now. The quality has dropped - nervy stuff.

Urgh, another comes off the paint and Murray finds himself at deuce.

    *Murray 6-4 6-2 4-5 Wawrinka

"Arhgy!" Or something like that, is what Wawrinka cries when Murray hits long. A forehand winner to the corner gives him momentum, a Murray forehand into the net gives him 40-0 and a Wawrinka drop shot into the net messes up the nice little sentence I was about to type.

There it is, Wawrinka does hold and waves his arms in the air to gee up the crowd.

    Murray 6-4 6-2 4-4 Wawrinka*

Plenty of bounce to Wawrinka as he returns to the court, boinging around like space hopper.

Plenty of bounce, but little bosh from Stan though. Murray goes 30-0 with ease, but Wawrinka clips a perfect forehand down the line and dispatches the volley to fight back. That's his first point on Murray's serve in this set.

No problem for Murray though as he serves it out.

    *Murray 6-4 6-2 3-4 Wawrinka

Zoom. Wawrinka thunders a forehand winner to Murray's backhand side - there's the defending French Open champion we know and love. Or like. Whatever.

Murray picks out a wonderful crosscourt winner from the corner and then crashes into a barrier. The noise of clanging metal sounded worse than the actual collision - he's fine.

At 30-30 Wawrinka glides a trusty backhand down the line for game point. If in doubt, go back to what you know.

And Murray tries to repeat recent history with another ambitious forehand - wide.

    Murray 6-4 6-2 3-3 Wawrinka*

Massive roar for the players as they return from a well earned sit down.

Stan's inconsistency bites him in the bum again as he goes long.

Murray doesn't look back and is handed the hold as Wawrinka flights one past the baseline once more.

"Murray is in a very good position and I'm not sure what Stan can come up with. The crowd want him to come back into it, but I can't see a way until he makes some in-roads into the serve or if Andy drops concentration. Andy's got to finish him off."
