Andy Murray's mum and wife and daughter are all all in Melbourne with Murray, in contrast to last year.

"It's great to have my family here. Last year it was a stressful couple of weeks. It's very different this year. I love playing here.

"Sam Querrey in the next round will be a tough one. Hes got a big game, a big serve and takes chances with his forehand."

But in all seriousness, how's that ankle Andy Murray rolled in the third set?

"It's just a little sore. It's not too serious. I definitely rolled it a bit and I'm sure I'll get some ice on it tonight. I was moving OK. I can put weight on. It's just a bit sore."

The big questions for Andy first.

What does he think about the fella dressed as knights of the realm in the crowd?

"It looks good. Thanks for the support. Cheers."

    He's overwhelmed. You can tell.

    Murray 6-3 6-0 6-2 Rublev

So Murray will face Sam Querrey in round three. He'll be playing the American on Friday.

    Murray 6-3 6-0 6-2 Rublev

Finito. Murray goes straight to the net to shake Rublev's hand and give him a pat on the back. The teen gets a standing ovation as he leaves the court, which he acknowledges with a clap of his hands.

    Murray 6-3 6-0 5-2 Rublev*

Murray's now toying with Rublev, coming up to the net, sending over a series of dinky little backhands, before waiting until Rublev is back and slamming over a winner. Just one more point.

    Murray 6-3 6-0 5-2 Rublev*

Murray races to 30-0 but Rublev absolutely spanks a spinning forehand that Murray doesn't get near.

The response is a lovely ace. Rublev saves two match points as Murray mistimes a backhand, and Murray then hammers a forehand into the net. Deuce.

    Murray 6-3 6-0 5-2 Rublev*

Someone in the crowd has called for a replay. Genuinely.

There was a shout of "out!" that didn't come from anyone on court. There's a bit of debate, Murray wandering over to chat to the umpire to work out what's going on, and they decide to replay the point. All very cordial.

Murray serving for the match, then. Round three and Sam Querry are, theoretically, a game away.

    *Murray 6-3 6-0 5-2 Rublev

That's nice from Rublev, a forehand winner that beats Murray's outstretched arm. The teen then sends down an ace before Murray, stretching like a cat, backhands a return well out of bounds. Rublev nonchalantly wipes his face with a towel as he holds his serve.

    Murray 6-3 6-0 5-1 Rublev*

Murray wants this over quickly now, jogging forward to batter a forehand beyond Rublev, who just turns away in disappointment. Murray double faults on his serve, which earns a stony glare from Lendl. Well, stonier than usual.

He gets back in the good books with an ace, before Rublev yet again slices a backhand into the net. It's not been a profitable shot for him today.

    *Murray 6-3 6-0 4-1 Rublev

A yell of annoyance from Murray as he plays the same shot twice and Rublev gets wise to it. It's the best of a bad game for him though as he overhits back-to-back shots. He trudges off, head down, as Murray takes the game.

  16. Postpublished at 11:34 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2017

    Murray 6-3 6-0 3-1 Rublev*

Murray retrieves a long ball with ease, before Rublev slams a fast winner out of Murray's reach.

The response? An ace that Rublev can't get near. Nice.

Plenty of oohs and aahs as the players get closer and closer to the net. Murray taps it long, Rublev races back, slams in a return and can only watch as Murray pats it out of reach. Thoroughly entertaining stuff.

    *Murray 6-3 6-0 2-1 Rublev

Murray's grimacing as the medic tweaks around with his ankle. He seems to be okay, taking a long swig of water as the doc takes a look. No treatment, however. He's okay to continue.

    *Murray 6-3 6-0 2-1 Rublev

Ridiculous. Another long rally, both players dancing up and down, and it's Murray who comes off best as Rublev spins a backhand into the net.

Rublev challenges an out call very late and it is in, by a whisker on the tennis ball. Murray secures the point, and then heads off to the sidelines.

    Here comes the doc...

  19. Postpublished at 11:28 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2017

    *Murray 6-3 6-0 1-1 Rublev

Murray is shaking his ankle around, trying to work off any soreness. There's always that worry when you go over on an ankle, that moment of panic. Still, he fell gracefully, which is more than I've ever managed.

"Good movement!" he shouts at his box as he fights his way back with two slammed forehands. Rublev responds with a lovely, well-flighted forehand to take it to deuce.

It's "not good news," according to Murray. He's saying it as loudly as possible.

  20. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 11:25 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2017

    *Murray 6-3 6-0 1-1 Rublev

Ooer. Murray's gone down clutching his ankle. The umpire is on the blower, but Murray looks like he's okay to continue. He's walking a little gingerly.

He was trying to return a forehand, went almost on tiptoes and then over on his ankle. It looked sore.
