    Evans 3-6 7-5 1-0 Cilic*

Cilic seems to be switching personalities for almost every point. Sometimes good, sometimes less so.

Evans rushes on to one that clips the net cord and dispatches it for 30-15, but double faults the next one.

Now two big serves to see out the game.

That hold is massive - don't let Cilic get straight back in it.

    *Evans 3-6 7-5 Cilic

Cilic won just one of seven break points in that second set. Evans won two of three.

    Opportunistic.

    Evans 3-6 6-5 Cilic*

Cilic inexplicably leaves an Evans mis-hit and it stays in. Is the wobble returning?

    Now he's put one wide.

But then top-end Cilic returns with one down the line.

Oh but what a passing shot from Evans! Two set points...

    *Seppi 1-6 4-6 6-4 Kyrgios

Australian Nick Kyrgios is up to his old tricks - angrily sending his racquet bouncing into the air, narrowly missing a ballboy, after losing the third set 6-4 to Italian  Andreas Seppi.

Kyrgios still leads, but may need to keep his temper in check.

    Evans 3-6 6-5 Cilic*

Evans, back out in fresh, sparkly white trainers, goes an advantage down only to drag it back to deuce.

This is really feeling like a crucial game.

Evans is slicing the ball up like a samurai now and Cilic is struggling to land the power, as he hits into the net and then goes long.

Dan Evans will not go away.

    *Evans 3-6 5-5 Cilic

Evans has to watch a forehand passing shot whizz past him and Cilic seems to be over his wobble as he gets himself two break points.

Evans shows bravery though by playing his shots to the fringes of the court and Cilic rattles into the net. And the Brit, mixing up the pace, forces Cilic into hitting long and that's two break points saved.

And here we go - point of the match. A truly entertaining rally and it's Evans shifting up his shot choice and finally finishes it with a backhand overhead.

Cilic immediately takes it back to deuce and now Evans needs to change trainers, as one of them is coming apart...

    *Evans 3-6 5-5 Cilic

Cilic races into a 40-0 advantage but cracks one wide to give Evans hope.

The Brit lifts a deep ball high and Cilic puts the slam straight at his opponent, but deals with the follow-up much better by applying the daintiest of drop shots.

    Evans 3-6 5-4 Cilic*

    Cilic playing rope-a-dope.

Just when he looked on the ropes he thumps a lovely forehand winner for a break point.

Another forehand slips wide though for deuce - he challenged it out of desperation and got it wrong.

Evans then moves Cilic all over the court and rushes on to a bouncing ball in mid-court - it's begging to be put away. Oh but he's mis-hit it... was it in? Yes, just. He's got away with that one.

And now he closes out the game. Phew.

    *Evans 3-6 4-4 Cilic

Cilic needed this - a love hold. It all comes down to that serve getting him through a sticky patch.

    Evans 3-6 4-3 Cilic*

And what a lift it's given to Evans. A sliding, popping backhand slips down the line and Cilic can only watch it go by. A lovely, old school shot.

Cilic looks rattled as he can't dig out a low one. And he's completely missed this serve - just waves at air.

    Curious.

But Evans and British fans won't mind.

Evans just kept chipping those balls back. Some good defensive play from him.

    *Evans 3-6 3-3 Cilic

There may be signs Cilic's game is slightly dipping.

He puts two straightforward forehands into the net to give Evans two break points.

The first one is tidied up with an ace. The second slaps into the net though and Evans, out of nowhere, breaks back.

    Seppi 1-6 6-7 (1-7) 1-1 Kyrgios

It's all systems go for Nick Kyrgios as he takes the second set against Andreas Seppi. He needs a tie break though.

    Evans 3-6 2-3 Cilic*

Hawk-Eye's playing up. So we're waiting an age for an Evans review of a Cilic shot - it was in. So he's 0-30.

A serve and follow-up gets him our of trouble and then Cilic does him a favour by hitting a drop shot with the grace of a hippo.

A serve to the backhand has too much sizzle for Cilic but the Croat steps in and whizzes a crosscourt backhander into the winning zone for deuce.

Evans wastes another review on a shot he hits long and then clobbers a forehand into the net.

Cilic breaks and it's looking ominous for the Brit.

    *Evans 3-6 2-2 Cilic

Evans catches one as sweet as you like down the line to go 15-15 on the Cilic serve.

But the Croat comes to the net to finish off one of his big serves.

Evans has a chance on the next rally as Cilic spoons one high, but he can't take the initiative and then spins a forehand wide before seeing an ace fly past.

That's Cilic's seventh of the match.

    Evans 3-6 2-1 Cilic*

Evans gives away the first point and lets out a bit of potty-mouthery. TV viewers are duly apologised to.

But turning the air blue works for him as he battles through by putting pressure on the Cilic forehand.

    *Evans 3-6 1-1 Cilic

Evans gets the crowd on his side as he swings a sweet passing backhand for an early lead.

Cilic looks for his comfort blanket and drops a big ace.

The next serve comes back with extra hot sauce and the Croat goes long, before forcing an Evans return with too much on it for 30-30.

Big serve out wide of the forehand for 40-30 and then a forehand that Evans can't deal with for the game.
